(edit Aug 30, 2015 : got the contract in! )
![]() I decided for the heck of it today to buy 1 spot in Tristar Quest and got lucky with the #1 spot! full video: 2015 Tristar Quest 1-Case, 5-Envelope Random Break #1 - 8/10/15, Mickey Mantle, Jamies Winston, Cam Newton, Tony Gwynn and Charles A Stoneham RipKingsLive ... pack 1: Slabbed Marvel Wynne, Tony Gwynn, John Kruk Opening Day Cover auto (first three players to hit 3 homers in top of 1st) pack 2: Cam Newton auto jersey Pack 3: Charles A Stoneham 1925 autographed contract (unclear what the contract is for, but New York Giants owner from 1919 -1936 (when he passed away and left the Giants franchise to his son) Pack 4: Yankees signed baseball with Mantle, Billy Martin, Yogi, Whitey Ford, Hank Bauer, Whitey Ford in the sweet spot - no other details but ball seems relatively new with no special provenance Pack 5: Jameis Winston auto jersey I thought long and hard between 3 and 4. Ended up taking the document instead. Obviously #4 has a fairly concrete value (maybe $700-900?), but the idea of owning a full 1925 contract with the NY Giants owner who had ties with Arnold Rothstein definitely appealed to the history buff in me. No clue on the value but hopefully I didn't give up a ton relative to the ball. Obviously if the contract was relating to a star/HOFer it would be pretty desirable, but seems like I would need to wait to get the document and read the context of the document. anyone know of any auctions relating to Stoneham (not the son)? I do see various RobertEdwards auctions with contracts of his secretarial signature - I wonder if I have recourse if this document proves to be a 'printed' secretarial signature ...hmmm Last edited by edhou1; 08-30-2015 at 11:55 AM.
