I did some research, and the TLDR is:
- He had decent raw stuff (Ks, HR suppression) = higher fWAR.
- He struggled with walks, sequencing, and contact management = lower bWAR.

fWAR is particularly useless for pitchers as it uses FIP and completely ignores unearned runs.
