They're homage paintings of what was originally line art, so it's like what Alex Ross has done with classic covers over the years.
It'd be neat to see cards of some of those Ross painted cover recreations with the classic logos (like on variant cards) added along with Jusko corner box art at mini size in the upper left corner above the price box.
I'm still hoping for some kind of Alex Ross Masterpieces set.

I always wanted an Alex Ross MM set. We have that Ross triptych in MM07 but a full fledged set would be so nice. I know UD lost the license but I’ll still hold out hope even if it’s in the far future. One issue with getting him in recent years (after Bianchi’s 2018) is that UD started going away from classic comic artists for MM and more towards Magic the gathering/fantasy artists. Not sure why.
