I hear you... you may find the discussion of OPS+, wRC+, and wOBA to be interesting above.

OPS+ suffers from improper weighting of SLG and OBP (thus why its inventor, Baseball Reference, stopped using it in their WAR calculation, I believe). The former getting more value than is fair, and the latter too little.

wRC+ isn't very comparable between seasons.

wOBA, I'd argue, is the cleanest stat to compare across seasons with proper weighting (as it is also the input to WAR).

What is Trout killing it at this year??? wOBACON ("wOBA on Contact")... that is clearly his career high... and it is better enough that his career worst CON ("contact") part of that equation is still leaving him at about average at wOBA vs. his own history.
