So I've been going back and forth with PSA on getting a couple promo cards graded. This is the response:
Thank you for submitting your request to the Customer Request Center. I do see that you provided a comc link, tcdb and a pop report from SGC. Comc is a "for sale" site, and SGC population is not relevant to PSA's own grading standards. Trading card does have a checklist of the cards in the set, and also recognizes that these are pre-production issues. Because these are pre-production samples, and were not intended by the publisher to be released to the public or sold, we are not accepting them for grading or authentication at this time. Your cards were returned to you ungraded correctly, and you were not charged for the submission. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Am I missing something? When did they stop grading cards that were given out at shows or mail in redemptions? I typed Topps Promo in the pop report and there were 12000 matches. Just a very strange situation. I've given them everything they asked for and there is always some new rational on why they won't. It's almost like the R&ID person I'm dealing with has personally decided she won't let the cards through. multiple checklist--check scanned photos of the whole set--check verification from the other 3 graders that they will grade--check sales data--check verification that the cards are Topps issued--check current listings--check You may wonder why I'm stuck on PSA, it's because I'm trying to complete a variation rainbow in PSA slabs. The sale value or grade doesn't really matter. I have no doubt the R&ID department is working their asses off so it's not personal for me. Just disappointing that my display won't come out as planned. I'm going to crack out the other 5 cards so they can all be submitted to the same grader. I really want to be a PSA fanboy but they just don't want me.
