The one good thing about the lockout is that it gets the MLB Network and MLB Network Radio straining to come up with things to talk about.
Right now, they are trying to decide the Mt. Rushmore of every team. Some are fairly easy, but some require real debate. I thought it'd be interesting to see who people would put on their favorite team's Mt. Rushmore. Doesn't necessarily have to be stats leaders or HOFers (or even players), but the four people that come to your mind when you think of your favorite team. For me, I'm a lifelong Braves fan. The four names that I'd put on the Braves Mt. Rushmore are: - Hank Aaron - Warren Spahn - Bobby Cox - Dale Murphy The first two, Spahn and Aaron, are fairly easy picks. I chose Bobby over Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz/Justice/Chipper because he was the connective tissue across their record-breaking run in the 1990s and early 2000s. I chose Murphy because, when I first started watching the Braves on TBS in the 1980s, he was Braves baseball. One of only six NL players to ever win back-to-back MVPs. |
