I personally don't think there was ever such a thing as an "insane" Tatis price then or now. His first 173 MLB games(8.2 WAR) so far is one of, if not the best start to a career in baseball history. Combine that with him being the most marketable player, there's really no way the market can get too high if your time horizon is at least a year or two out(when it can dip and have time to come back up). Anyone who thinks the market was or is too hot doesn't realize the kind of talent they're witnessing.
