Please HELP!
Anyone know a qualified appraiser or organization that can provide documentation that a graded card loses value or is not as advertised if it's been damaged inside the slab during transit? CONTEXT: A few weeks ago I made a deal with a seller using PayPal G&S to buy his "1996-97 Topps Kobe Bryant Rookie Card BGS 9. 5 True Gem Mint RC #138" that was listed on eBay. I paid above market price because it was in such great condition and I was planning on crossing over to get a PSA 10. When I received the item I instantly noticed that the top edge of the card was peeling and that wasn't shown in any of the photos I saw before I made the purchase. It was graded almost a decade ago and shifts around in the slab when impacted so it was concluded that the damage happened during transit. I requested a return/refund but the seller obviously didn't want to so even after providing evidence to my claim, PayPal is requiring me to get an estimate or detail of damage "from an unbiased third-party, such as a dealer, repair shop, appraiser, or another individual or organization that is qualified in the area of the item in question." The only way Beckett could give any feedback is if they were to regrade it which would take too much time and would also be altering the current state of the item. My local card shop was too busy and didn't feel comfortable helping with my situation. *Couldn't upload all my pics because of the limit |
