Experience grading 2019 Bowman Sapphire?
Do you have experience submitting 2019 Bowman Draft Sapphire cards for grading that you are willing to discuss? I ask for two reasons.
First, I started to review my 2019 Bowman Sapphire cards to decide what to grade (eventually), and noticed that almost all of them have a ton of barely visible print lines on the back. I see the lines only under strong light at certain angles and they are not visible to the naked eye. (By contrast, there are no such lines on 2019 Topps Chrome Sapphire cards in my collection.) I'm wondering whether those lines will meaningfully affect grading. My hope is that they should not because virtually every card has those lines, which to me means we shouldn't ding the cards for a systemic issue.
Second, I see rather low population reports from PSA and BGS - as of this writing, 190 on PSA and 230 on BGS. I'm wondering whether that is a result of collectors seeing similar signs of manufacturing issues in their 2019 Bowman Sapphire collection that lead them to refrain from grading. The low pop reports could also result from a combination of (1) the fact that the product didn't really explode in popularity until around Feb/March of this year, (2) generally slow turnaround times, and (3) the recent shutdown.
Would love to hear the community's thoughts on what I view as a complex issue. Thanks.
