This is one of the key items you are ignoring. Card prices are greatly influenced by popularity, probably even more so than on-field performance. The list of highly successful on-field performance players whose card prices are extremely low is long and well established. This argument between these players can’t be solely about on-field performance. That ignores one of the key ingredients of how the card market works.
