Set up at strictly comic-con for the first time and here are my thoughts
1. Not many dealers selling comics. 2. Spider-man comics sell really well. 3. Graded comics sold very well too, which was surprising given 4. 4. All dealers told me it was a waste of time selling graded comics at smaller cons and that off grade keys is were the money is at. 5. Cosplayers and furries don't buy comics. 6. I had too many people manhandle, open up comics and flip every page and set things down on books to list. Its crazy people don't know how to handle books. 7. People don't understand that e-bay charges tax and getting a book for $85 on ebay is like paying $110 in person with shipping. Trying to tell someone that $90 is cheaper at the show is cheaper than $85 on ebay went nowhere. 8. I brought some Timely books to the show and was the only dealer with golden age. I actually sold a few. |
