5th Annual - Multi Basketball Break: March Madness Style!

We have done this the past four years and they have been a lot of fun, so I am going to keep it going. Here is the old thread from last year if you want to look at the setup.

With March Madness coming up next month, I wanted to create a break that would go along with watching the games and adding to the excitement, as everyone would have a team to root for with this break.


The break will consists of boxes that will give us around 64 hits in the break. The top 64 cards from the break will be ranked from 1-64, which will be used to assign the tourney seeds with it. For example, the #1 overall seed would be matched up with the top card pulled from the break.

Rules:
1. The break will have 64 spots, one for each spot in the tourney.
2. The boxes will be purchased and opened once payment has been received.
I will create a pre-ranking of the top 64 cards after the break has been done. After the pre-ranking, members of the break can put their input in as to whether a card should be bumped up higher or lower and if enough people agree, it will be changed
3. The member list will be randomized by a Mod (3 times) to determine the draft order for picking your tourney teams. Once the tourney teams are announced, the drafting can begin.
3. When your team wins, you own the card of the opponent. Only one person will actually get to keep the card that was assigned to their tourney team and that person would be the one with the team who wins the championship, as all of the others would have eventually lost to someone.
4. The first 32 teams to lose right away will be randomized and will get the team base slots and the extra hits that were not part of the top 64 cards.
5. Break will be done on Youtube Live.
6. No Int'l shipping. If Int'l and want to join, you need to have a COMC account for me to ship to or another US address.

Here is a breakdown of what to expect from the 64 spots:
32 will lose first round: base team spots and leftover hits to be randomized
16 will lose second round: Get 1 card (first round win)
8 will lose in the sweet 16: Get 2 cards
4 will lose in the elite 8: Get 3 cards
2 will lose in the final 4: Get 4 cards
1 will lose in the championship : Get 5 cards
1 will have the championship team : Get 7 cards (6 wins plus original card assigned to team)

So, depending on how good of cards we get from the break and also the teams that your team beats, will determine just how good of cards you get. It will make the team drafting interesting, as there might be a certain card you really want and so you draft a team that has a chance of beating that team with the card you want.
