Fun with the CBA.... The Deron Williams situation

This isn't being reported yet, but it's going to be interesting to watch and those of you here who like the CBA may find this interesting.

Deron Williams was "waived" less than an hour ago by the Mavs.

Lots of people are now tweeting about the Cavs getting him. But they may not get a chance.

If I'm understanding the CBA correctly, teams that are under the cap by the pro-rata amount that he is owed have a chance to claim his rights in the next 48 hours. These teams include the Nuggets and the Jazz.

If either of those teams, or one of the other two or three teams, claims him.... he is obligated to go to those teams.

So, for you Cavs fans, you'll know in 48 hours if he might be your new backup point guard and possible part time two guard. Until then, you have to hope that Utah and Denver stay away....
