Default Ghosts of oddball collecting past

Just remembered this oddball release from Topps from the 2005-06 season

Topps Collector Chips

"NEW for 2005-06, Topps NBA Collector Chips are a slam dunk featuring elite players on collectible poker chips! Every clamshell style pack will contain 5 collectible chips, including randomly inserted Autographed chips and one sequentially numbered parallel chip per pack. The base set will consist of 200 players, divided between 4 colors and featuring current veterans, new Rookies and Retired Legends. Each is paralleled on 5 levels, sequentially numbered to 599, 399, 299, 199 or 1/1! Autographs are available from more than 30 players, including rookie Andrew Bogut , stars Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson and legends Bill Walton, Moses Malone, Julius Erving, Dave Cowens, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Rick Barry, Elgin Baylor, George Gervin and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar."

In the world of oddball releases from major companies this one is one of the most unique that I can think of. I've only ever seen one of the autographed chips and it's this Melo that sold recently for $100 on ebay.

Anyone ever take a crack at these chips back in the day? I used to have a Danny Granger RC /299 but my dog thought it would make a good chew toy.
