Considering Kasich beat Trump in Ohio, I'd say he certainly does need him. Otherwise, due to hear y urban populations, this state will go left.

Pence took a huge hit to his rating in Indiana by re-wording his law after taking heat. His supporters did not like what appeared to be him backing down.
