Exclusives and High Gloss will still be in the product. These are just highlighting the new parallels.

It doesn't look like it. They said new parallels, so they shouldn't be replacing the old ones.

That said, how many parallels are there to YGs?
- Base
- French
- Clear Cut
- Exclusives
- High Gloss
- Foil
- Speckled Foil
- Clear Cut Exclusives
- Outburst Silver
- Outburst Red
- Deluxe
- Outburst Gold

That makes the base + 11 parallels, potentially.

If they're putting 3 inserts per pack I'm going to hazard a guess that the packs will be about $8-10 per. Pretty ridiculous.

EDIT: Didn't even notice that the number of packs were cut in half. So double the above price.

We can only hope.

3 Speckled Foils = Speckled Outburst Silver (45 total YGs)
3 Speckled Outburst Silver = Speckled Outburst Red (135 total YGs)
3 Speckled Outburst Red = Speckled Deluxe (405 total YGs)
3 Speckled Deluxe = Speckled Outburst Gold (1,215 total YGs)
3 Speckled Outburst Gold = Speckled Deluxe Double Secret Outburst Gold 1/1* (3,645 total YGs)

*Based on overall print run and quantity released on epack, 1/1 cannot be guaranteed, but all Speckled Deluxe Double Secret Outburst Gold will be foil stamped '1/1.'

The design needs to knock it out of the park for this release. Nothing worse than a dookie looking YG.

PJ, I'm sure you dont have an answer but any insight into when the YG class will be determined for Series 1? Obviously with Bedard coming that's what everyone wants to know.

I hate to be pessimistic but clearly we're in the middle of the junk era 2.0 and card companies are acting predictably. Should be streamlining production but they'll do the opposite and dilute the market at the expense of an immediate buck.

Declining values will not bring new people into the hobby and will slowly bleed off the a large percentage of collectors currently engaged. Great for true collectors if the definition of a 'true collector' is someone who views their purchases as spent money with no expectation of any $ recovery.

Now do the thing where you tell us if/how these new changes affect the box/case cost....

Personally, I'd prefer that Upper Deck did a "refresh" of their quality control to minimize the quantity of damaged cards they have been producing over the last three seasons....

As someone who breaks 10-20 cases of each flagship series release, I like the idea of 12 packs per box vs. 24 with the 6 Young Guns per box remains the same....as long as the price doesn't significantly increase.

The extra parallels seem to me like added fog for the fact that they are going to produce SOOOOOOO much of this that Exclusives are going to probably move to one per every 1-2 cases. Pulling High Gloss are going to be like spotting Lochness....
