What's Halland's go to card to get right now? He looks like he's going to be a monster.

2019-20 Topps Finest in the Salzburg kit is the only true rookie in my opinion. Any serial numbered parallels of that would be my go-to Haaland card.

Much ink has been spilled in this thread on this exact debate (Panini sticker #32 vs TC Bundesliga #72 vs. TC UCL #74 vs. Finest UCL #91). Pound for pound, the market values Haaland's 19-20 Topps Chrome Bundesliga #72 and its various parallels above the others, and has for some time now.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Certainly are options for any sort of collector. People will push their agendas and biases for sure. I certainly have my favorites which is the Finest suite of cards (Salzburg kit, Extended Base and Fusion Prized Footballers) and Sapphire.

I don't care for the Bundesliga "Pixelated" color parallels they used from 2018-19 Chrome UEFA. Just ugly looking imo. Finest and Sapphire are my go to parallels. The Bundesliga refractor is primo, looks great. The Bundesliga and the Sapphire base are the top two base cards currently price wise.

The Finest SP and Chrome UEFA base autos (no parallels exist) are some of the most SP autos of his imo. I doubt there were more than 50 made in each release.

Not even going to get into Topps Now or the sticker. I care not for either of them. Don't care about the Crystal either.

For me it's the Sapphire b/c of the Rookie shield but I understand why those others are also considered his RC card.

Of his 3 Salzburg cards, this is my favorite and the only one I currently own. Wouldn't consider this an RC as it's an insert, but still cool. I think the Dortmund cards have their place and will have their own type of significance, I just can't imagine anyone looking at them as rookie cards 15-20+ years down the line if Haaland actually becomes an iconic player.

You'll likely be in the minority, the Dortmund cards were in the same release year so the Salzburg and Dortmund cards will both be considered rookie cards.

Poor person asked what should I buy NOW and we just rehash the RC argument from the first pages of the thread. God I love the internet.

If you haven't watched the highlights from today's game against his former club, do it now. Just when I think I've seen him do everything...

He’s a machine.

I picked up a PSA 10 Finest Extended Base RC last week. Love that card. Just took awhile to find a gem.

Friday 16 September 2022 18:51, UK

"Pep Guardiola says Erling Haaland will get even better and prolific. Man City striker is perfect to manage."

"Pep Guardiola warns more is still to come from Erling Haaland; Norwegian named Premier League Player of the Month for August after scoring twice on league debut against West Ham, netting at Newcastle, and hitting consecutive hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest."

If people think his cards are expensive now, (and I'm not saying they're wrong), they might get a lot more expensive before too long.

If you're on the fence about this guy, I wouldn't wait too long. There might be a lot of people looking back at today and regretting they didn't buy when they still had the chance.

He's still young though. Lots could happen.

From Twitter:

14 goals in 10 games with Man City;

100 goals in last 99 appearances;

26 goals in 21 Champions League games;

…and it’s still September 17 — just 10 official games.

Reminder: he’s still 22.

Haaland just scored his 3rd STRAIGHT home hat trick!

Don't sleep on grabbing his key rookies while they're still available and affordable.

I starting scooping his stuff in September, glad I did. Got the TC UCL psa9, #32 sticker (1st print), topps sticker sgc9, and 2019 prized footballers all within the last few weeks. Just need the Finest and Bundesliga chrome. On the later side but definitely not too late.

Nice, congrats!

Fun little stat I just saw…

Most career goals by age 22:

Ronaldo - 50
Messi - 44

Haaland - 173

He has more goals at age 22 than Messi and Ronaldo did…COMBINED! Awfully close to twice as many.

You can't compare Haaland's early career to that of Messi and Ronaldo though. That number also includes goals scored for reserve teams and at the third division of Norwegian football. It's like comparing the MLB to Peewee League. Ronaldo and Messi also started off as a wingers, not strikers. Ronaldo didn't start playing as a striker until the 2009/10 season - his 8th year.

A better comparison would be Mbappe, who before turning 23 had scored 202 goals for Monaco and PSG.

Stats don't tell the full story, and without context, they are meaningless.
