Can't believe we're not getting any chatter in this thread today.

6 weeks in the report. That's trouble when you start out 2-3 in that division.

No reason to rush Wilson back. I don't see them catching Ari or Rams. Geno isn't going to come in and rattle of a winning streak.

Sad thing is that Geno could very well come in and be serviceable at least but that defense isn't going to help their cause much. You can't operate a consistent winning team when you are operating at a 10 minute time of possession deficit through nearly a 3rd of the season. Really disappointing how badly some of their signings on D have worked out as well as the trades that have mortgaged draft picks away.

That said, I still think it's likely he plays again this season assuming his recovery goes well. Assuming he's out 6 games, it's very likely they go 2-4 in that stretch (@PIT/NO/JAX/@GB/ARI/@WAS) with an outside shot at grabbing a W over PIT or NO which would put them at 4-7/5-6. Would be probable you're still in WC contention.

That's the silver lining...

This is the NFC, and 10-7 or maybe even 9-8 could get you that 7th playoff spot.

If they draft a QB next year, that player would likely be on the bench his entire rookie contract. The only argument would be that Wilson wanted out last year and you trade him. He still has some pro bowl years left in the tank.

I was looking at this from a Lions perspective. They will need to draft a QB either this draft or next. I am not seeing anybody this year that really moves the needle. Top two are Howell and Rattler? Bo Nix? Howell would be the only one of that bunch that I would even consider as it stands now. I still need to watch them more this year as the competition gets better.

It's definitely a much more flawed class compared to the last 3 classes but I still believe Howell is high potential. I firmly believe UNC was vastly overrated from a prepared-talent aspect heading into this season, likely due to the media needing someone from the ACC to hang on to when the conference was clearly in a down-trending year. My only fear is if his confidence get's a little rattled by a "down" year when he was talked about as a potential Top 5 pick before the start of the season. Too early to predict draft positions but if he does go in that 5-10 range I could see Howell in New Orleans, Washington or maybe Houston next year. The only way the Seahawks get to draft a QB (outside of a mid/late round backup flier) is to trade Russ away for picks. Maybe he forces his way out but I think it's more likely the team goes aggressive in patching up the D with the potential cap increase bonanza next year and ends up convincing him to stay.

With this injury pretty much takes only current serious threat away to Favre's ironman streak of games

Jets would not mind them tanking it.

Between the emergence of spread RPOs, caution with concussions, and analytics (IE strategic tanking), this is one of those untouchable records.

Can we all just admit that the Russell Wilson experiment is over in Seattle and that its Geno Smith time?

Happy Geno finally gets to show he can shine in this league. Another QB ruined by New York

Geno is gonna go 2-1 in this next favorable 3 game stretch: @Steelers, Home vs Saints, Home vs Jags.

after the next three games the Seahawks have their bye, and after that they have the packers in GB week 10....

Therefore, that gives Russ over a month to recover before he eventually comes back and beats the Packers in Green Bay to put the Seahawks at 5-4 and in the thick of the playoff hunt.

I don't know why Seahawks fans are panicking... Geno is more than serviceable, and I believe the Defense will start to turn it around just like they did in the middle of last season...

Believe.

Geno is 12-19 without a start since 2017, so you know he's fresh! That career TD/INT ratio of 30/37 is a blip. He's been holding out and it's his time to shine.

I’m just happy the Steelers get a gimmie game this week.

A whole week to prepare for Geno and that defense.
I’ll take it.

Or more like Geno Smith 120 yards 0 TDs and 3 INTs and Seattle losses by 20
