Official Set Builders thread

I've been on a set building kick for a while now and while it originally started as a way to keep busy when my budget was busted, set building has taken a greater priority in enjoying my hobby.

I know there are other set builders on the forum, so I'd like to have a central place where we can all discuss set building and maybe help each other out.

Let us know what you're working on, what you'd like to put together in the future, new projects coming up, or which year's design is your favorite. Definitely post pictures if you can. Old sets, new sets, base sets, parallel sets, insert sets...or maybe you're a tough guy and you're chasing the big daddy with a master collection, this is your thread.

Let's try to keep this thread on track:

• When posting pictures, try to keep them at a manageable size, nobody likes a scroll-fest. If I can count the eye lashes on the player featured on the card you're posting, the image is too big. If I need to scroll from left to right, or maximize my window, the image is too big.
  
• This is not a singles show off thread, please refrain from posting singles unless they're additions to a set you're building.
  
• Same goes for Player / Team specific singles, unless they're part of a set you're building. Team sets are OK.

I just completed a set and will post it when the final piece gets uploaded to my COMC.
I am working on a bunch of sets and it is my favorite thing to do within this hobby.

^^^ That Playmaker set is one I'm eventually going to have to work on, just don't have the coin for it at the moment. I only have the Gary Payton and it's a stunner, all of them are!

EDIT: We have quite the crowd in here, I'm glad there are more set builders on the forum. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress updates and posting my own!

I don't know if anyone else is this way, but I just went on COMC and Beckett to try to fill some sets. I ended up buying 136 cards, and only 5 were ones I actually needed. I seem to start a new set every time I browse/buy singles for my existing needs. I got it bad, man.

I have been focusing on inserts lately that have some part of them that is/has clear, acetate, see-through, window aspects to the card. I am almost complete with this years Mystery Rookie (no idea why it's called that) clear acetate insert set from Prestige. They look like this: (not my photo)

Since last year, I've also been building the Clear Vision insert set from Pinnacle. Looks like this:



This set is huge, and Pinnacle wasn't busted much. Hope to finish soon. There are also parallels to this set /36 /24 /12 and /5. I am not planning on building these. The only difference is the color of the window. It would be near impossible to build the lower numbered sets.

I started buying 12/13 Elite Rookie Inscriptions Autographs and building that set.



There are lots of great rookies in that year's double class. But on accident, I was sent some of the Eilte Series Rookie inscriptions. Those are maybe even nicer cards, as I believe all of them are on card autos.



So I'm not sure where I'm going to go from here. Another few sets I'm considering.

I was thinking about starting a set of those, too, but I only have 3 (same with the Clear Vision, also). I think they're called 'Mystery' because they come one per in those $10 packs at Target, and you have no idea who you're gonna get. I guess all cards could qualify as a Mystery under that definition.
