Default HELP!!!! Worst Nightmare...USPS Shipping Damage

So I finally received my Richie Shaffer Bowman Draft Superfractor from Topps today. Here is what the package looked like when I received it, the whole was so big I could take the card out without opening from the top or bottom.......

Hoping that it was just the package I took the card out and here is the damage, I'm so pissed right now....

What do I do? Can I do anything? I signed for the package because I had multiple redemptions coming in today.

I can't believe this happend, there is no way to duplicate this card and it was the one I needed to basically complete the Rainbow project I have.

Holy Man..... That sucks. Maybe Topps will be able to produce another Super auto for you and just get rid of that one. But man does that suck. I'd call Topps and explain what happened. Hope everything works out but man does that suck

Ohhhh no .....

Topps needs to make this one right. It's no cost to them to remake the card ... in this instance, they should when you return it.

WOW that's just brutal. Sorry for your loss. I suspect that this card cannot be replicated. Hopefully you get to keep the super and they send you a nice extra for your troubles on top of it.

1) It is 100% Topps' fault, as their vendor destroyed the card.

2) It is very likely they have a duplicate batch of superfractors available. Getting Mr. Schaffer to sign it, though, may take some extra work that they do not want to do.

It is possible they printed off a whole run sheet of supers and only signed/released the one, but if not, there is no way they will stop the presses to produce one card. It's just too cost prohibitive when they can send you equal value cards they already own. That's even assuming they have the plates and didn't release those as 1/1's. Sorry, but that super is probably gone forever. I'd make 'em pay hard, though. Like a 1/1 Trout/Harper/Machado weekend at the All Star Game slumber party or something.

Now, once it's in the customers hands, all bets are off. But in this case, that's not what happened.
agreed Mike.

As a seller it is your responsibility to get any item to the buyer and if it is lost or damaged you are expected to take care of it. But somehow in this case Topps is not at fault? come on now. It it Topps fault and they should make it right. They should have insured the card to protect themselves just as we would have done as sellers.

This is probably the biggest screw up from Topps/USPS ever as far as cards go.

Wow, that is just horrible, especially since it's a super.

I'd definitely contact Topps. I see no reason why they can't remake it and get Richie to sign again.

Contacting USPS is a waste of time, they won't do anything. But topps has the ability to, and should, remake the card for you and have richie sign it.

You're the receiver ... not the sender. USPS can do nothing for you and can not even open a claim (only the sender can do that)

Topps is the only one that can help here ...

And they sent a SUPER AUTO in a toploader only?????

Also, it's a super. Will still get a BGS 9

But seriously, not cool man. Topps will either replace it for you (since they probably have 2 or 3 Schaffers sitting around) or they'll send you 5 or 6 of their customer sticker dump cards & claim they have an equal book value.

Hope it all works out for you!!!

Watch Topps send you a terribly off-centered version as a replacement.

Such a bummer on so many levels. Look at that nice bold auto. I can't believe they would ship that card in that manner.

I would ask for at least 2 Duke Snider autographs on that one!

If it was a 1/1 like a Super auto I'd have gone with an actual box personally and not an envelope or bubble mailer

I think they did that with a Babe Ruth auto-relic recently. I remember a member on here posting a video of her un-opening the package from Topps - it was very well protected.

Bombard them with social media, including this thread and the pictures therein, if you don't get a result from calling them on Monday.

this really stinks, and I hope it works out for you. I suspect it will.

Contact BOTH Topps and the USPS. I doubt the post office will do much though, so cross your fingers that Topps helps make it right.

but it isn't topps problems and since it wasn't insured the post office isn't going to do anything.

It is topps problem, it is their job to get the card to you safely. Even though it wasn't their fault it got damaged, it is their job to fix it.
