Default Pathetic NT pricing

Just browsing on ebay and almost every single 2012 National Treasures card listing is a BIN/BO and the BIN is an absurd price. What's the point? If you're cashing in you need to sell quick and therefore run a short auction. I mean, $299 BIN/BO for an Egnew RPA??

Guessing NT is all about money making rather than collecting for those busting it....

Well they'll sit there and not sell so the sellers will lose out anyway.

where have you been? almost the entire hobby is about making money. otherwise, cases wouldn't be busted by the gamblers trying get the big hits and big payday.

i'm glad they're there, otherwise i'd have no singles to clean up on.

I agree with you though. not a fan of the outrageous BIN/BO prices. these are probably people that just got absolutely crushed on their case(s) and are trying to recoup as best they can.

eBay should charge 5% right off the top for any Buy it Now listing, whether it sells for that price or not.
If they put it up for $3,000, they have to pay $150 to list it. If you don't like that structure, list it at $0.99 and let it auction itself off.

This is the stupidest thing that I have heard in a very long time. You must not sell at all or you would never be ok with this.

Might be one of the dumbest things I have read so far in 2013...

Generally, those who don't have the resources to buy a $3,000 are jealous and in turn, think of stupid ideas to penalize those who DO have the cards.

So you can have those same people bid up your auctions and not pay?

you do realize ebay prefers and is moving more and more towards the BIN structure despite it's history as an "auction" site? why would they provide less incentive to use the price format they prefer? derp.

I don't mind the BIN's at all, alot of times they are quite high but if you work with the seller many of them sell for 10-33% of those high listings.

Don't let the numbers scare you away from offers. Just offer what is fair to you and don't be attached if they say no, you'd be amazed how many will work a much lower price.

Just as Contenders before it and Topps Chrome before that - anyone that buys now, with the intention of actually keeping the card (and not just re-flipping it) is insane. Yes I'm painting a broad brush.

Everything will drop. Everything. Luck and RGIII included (although their drop will be less I realize)

You've got Alshon Jeffery NT RPA's listed at $249.99 BIN's - when now a year later I could get a 2011 AJ Green NT RPA and still have $75 left over compared to that Jeffery - not that anyone is crazy enough to click that BIN - or I hope no one is.

Flipping I get. Collecting the player you want from NT (as I will with all Browns RC Autos) requires waiting a month.

tell ya what, my ebay app cheat sheet paints a funny picture on low auto prices (sold so far)
Luck /10 ball/tag/shield $865.
RGIII 50/50 numbers $350
AP ROY leather /27 $180
AP Timeline Nameplate 1/15 $150

Grant it these aren't the RPA's yet but I'm a little shocked for day 1 so far.

I sent a $275 offer on the RG3 50/50 he countered with $325, waited to long and someone hit BIN.

Never underestimate the early flipper deals that can be had on some BIN.

Not every card is listed 10x market.

Why post with an outrageously high BIN? Because of Howard Cohen.

My strategy? If I see something I want, but it's too expensive, I'll just message the seller and say "I'm interested in your item and I want to make an offer that doesn't insult you. What ballpark range are you hoping to move this item?"

Usually I try to include sell prices of recently sold ones and let them know I'd go a little higher than what the item has been going for.

The thing is, I'm not looking to buy. I was just having a browse to see what stuff had been pulled and listed. And the majority of things were all crazy high BINs, it just seems pointless...

It really is. It hurts the seller though, not the buyer. SP cards hurt buyers short term who want to pick up a card. . SP =list a card at an insane price than next person who gets one lists at insane price with it. Neither sell. Third comes and lists same price. 4 months down the road one decides to give in and go to auction. gets 1/4 what he could have at early release time. The /25 and /50 RPAs they will lose quicker but not as much cash. As soon as first auction ends the prices only go down. Im not an NFL collector but these are some nice RPA's being pulled already. There should be plenty of people coming out on top if it keeps up.

Im okay with the high BINs, as long as they come back with reasonable offers. This is the first day of release though.

Some people just have the cards up high to protect themselves.
