So topps is shutting down their NFT marketplace tomorrow, I think. They are letting people move their NFTS to openseas and remint from avalanche to polygon. But some are not transferring because of licensing issues I assume. All my Godzilla NFTs for instance will be destroyed. Burned.

I am somewhat outraged. This is why I prefer other companies then Topps. They screwed up eTopps and now this!

Technically, a real NFT lives on a blockchain independent of any company, so it can't be deleted. The problem with Topps is that they weren't true NFTs.

The Topps NFTs that exist on the Wax blockchain can't be deleted by Topps as far as I know, for example. Companies don't like to give up this control, thus you see them create enclosed digital platforms that they have control over instead of releasing their NFTs to public blockchains.
