Bar is impossibly high for him in the hobby. That’s always been my point. He could be as good as KD and that would be a failure.

Most of the new collectors haven't been burned enough yet. That'll change.

Problem is that these prices have him as an All-NBA guy this year and a ring within five years. Tough hill to climb.

The KD example is a good one.

Many new hobbyists have been burned by Zion.

Most don’t learn their lesson until the third time.

He could be as good as Hakeem and it would be disappointing.

This is so sad of an outlook as a hobby.

It’s also true. If Wemby is an all time great, borderline top10 player he will be a disappointment relative to his card prices currently.

if the "best" matchup in 40 years was a gentleman's sweep, baseball has been trash for 40+ years

Huge, lifelong Spurs fan here.

1) A lot of this is on Wemby himself. He's had a non-stop workload since before coming to the NBA. Hasn't really had an offseason, and it's showing in his conditioning.

2) His shot selection is atrocious. Some of this is on him, but it doesn't appear as though he is receiving any coaching whatsoever. The offense is completely disjointed and the team looks even worse than last year. Pop is supposed to be some kind of master, but seems like he's checked out.

3) Brian Wright has once again, like he has throughout his tenure as GM, failed to put together a coherent roster. It's amazing that a coach and GM are allowed to be this bad for so long.

watch Pacers vs. NO on Friday. Zion really has something to prove, should be interesting.

I'm sure other members have equally interesting matchups they can point you to.

if you are complaining about tonight's games, you weren't watching the right ones.

The league as a whole has been a lot more competitive early in the regular season this year.

Yeah, yeah...I know. 'NoBoDy CarEs.' Well, I'd care a lot less 8 games into a beisbol season.

A lot of these teams are scrapping and actually giving a damn in the 4th q's, which is welcomed. I'm loving all of it.

this.... a good coach also doesnt let his star take 0 shots in a half...

the Spurs cannot shoot the 3 ball and need to stop trying... it allows every defense to just focus on Wemby since they are dumb enough to continue to shoot the open 3 and miss

I mean if Haliburton, who is a proven NBA star, can have an off night or three, certainly Wemby can.

I just don't see how a player who has been lauded and feted can really succeed in today's NBA. Cause eventually he has to confront the physicality of those players who had to earn each minute on the court, level by level. They make every single minute count like 10.

Michael Jordan, while he was lauded pretty early on... correct me if I am wrong... had the unique situation of being the only sober person in the room. So of course all the veterans on the court relied on him for guidance.

Water finds its level. How much time is Bronny getting on the court?

I think the Spurs will be a decent home team and woeful on the road.

Wemby's shot selection is poor.

He desperately needs a quality PG. And more talent in general. And a new coach.

I don't even know what they're trying to do.

Vassell and Jones back will help. Whenever that is.
