Guardians got this.
AL EAST was weak.
All the Yankees got going for them is Aaron Judge. He will be walk because Francona.

It's been 74 years since Cleveland has won a Championship. The fans had their hearts ripped out in 1997 and 2016. And the 1999, 2006, and 2017 play-offs were also especially depressing. It's really time.

Unfortunately, unless the Cleveland hitters start hitting, I don't think they're going to be able to get by NY. It's the most 2022 Guards stat that they hit .178/.211/.260 during the Tampa series and won.

They don't hit enough home runs, which are important in the postseason. They have good pitching, but not as good as the Astros.

No one's pitching is as good as the Astros. Their rotation is so stacked they they've put studs in the bullpen. I'm not sure their bullpen is all that good, though.

They'll probably turn that around that in Game 1 with Cole on the mound.

I don't think the lack of home runs will hurt them if they can just hit period. And no one in the playoffs is pitching as good as Houston

What I meant was, I don't think the Indians' pitching is good enough to overcome their offensive shortcomings -- teams who out-homer their opponents in the postseason have won about 80% of the time in recent years. But we'll see -- the Yankees offense hasn't been as good in the second half. They've relied too much on Judge. Their bullpen has been a big liability lately.

If they pitch like they did in wild card series and for most of the year I think they can overcome the offense problems but we shall see.

07 was disappointing because of being so close to the world series and collapsing but that team overall was not disappointing doesn't hurt as much

Yea, 2017 was a special pain.

Coming off the World Series everyone expected the team to be contenders. Cleveland started off the season slow, but ended it on one of the greatest winning streaks in baseball history. Cleveland went into the playoffs, at least according to 538, as the favorite. It really felt like this was it...

Then they announced the postseason roster...which was sketchy with Brantley coming in cold and no Yandy Diaz. Kipnis in...center field? Urshela ends up pooping the bed with his defence. Kluber was hurt, or something, and didn't pitch well. And the Yankees won.

I was emotionally exhausted by the end of the 2016 World Series. I was devastated, but I couldn't be mad. But 2017 I was furious, to the point that it made me start questioning how much emotional bandwidth I should be putting into sports.

17 was just a big let down for sure. Especially when guys were brought in to make the team better. 07 didn't bother that much honestly only than thinking they could've beat the Rockies

Ryan Garko on Line 3 for 2007.

2007 was that big of a disappointment for me. That team honestly over achieved kind of like this team this year. Didn't make the World Series. Yeah they blew a lead but wasn't that huge of a deal

2007 was awful, my favorite team, Cleveland, had a 3-1 game lead over the Red Sox in ALCS only to lose three in a row and then the Red Sox swept my home team Rockies in a lopsided series.

Up to that point though the 2007 playoffs were great fun for me.

Same here. He always gives up a homer or two and has one ugly inning (usually rattled by the HR, and more damage is done). I would have started Cortes.
