Default Trade Deadline thread

What are ya'll expecting? For the Hawks I've heard rumors of Jerami Grant, Marcus Smart and Derrick White.
Apparently the Rockets have kicked around a Westbrook for Wall trade if the Lakers would include 2027 1st.

It will come and go with little actual activity as usual.

This will be interesting..

The Harden rumours could have a lot of truth to them. BKN may not want to risk losing him for nothing.

A Simmons and parts for Harden trade makes a ton of sense if so.

I'm wondering if Dallas make a move.

Does Utah? Ingles has been poor but may see a boost somewhere else.

The Lakers are a joke. Man I wish we didn't have the play in. Haha. 9th. Can they dump Westy? He's only half the problem. Wonder what GM LeBron does. Poor Vogel.

I'm not sure there's gonna be too many moves. Might be a quiet one.

If I'm the Nets I'm trying to grab Simmons/Maxey now for Harden. You may not think where there is smoke there is fire but get some assets.

The Nets are trying to win a championship. They aren't trading Harden. The 76ers can't sign Harden unless they shed salary (Simmons). If Harden decides to opt out and the 76ers aren't prevented from signing him because of tampering, the Nets can get Simmons + assets for taking on his bad contract.

Or maybe they should continue on their path of trying to win a championship with three hall of famers.

Who is the third HOF? Irving isn't a HOF now.

Thadeous Young is the sleeper.
He's not even playing in San Antonio and he would definitely help any contender.

Lol, Simmons for harden. Simmons is worthless. You gonna trade an mvp quality player for someone that may not even play?

Might be more a buy out candidate? Will anyone give the Spurs something for him?

This one is interesting. I like Collins and Bogy, but not sure Collins fits that amazingly next to Embiid.

Morey seems to want a top tier guy back.

I just hope the Celtics do something. I don’t even care who they trade at this point, Tatum included.

Same here. It’s clear Tatum/Brown isn’t going to work. I would rather still have Kyrie than those two at this point. Unfortunately it sounds like the best they may do is some sort of Smart for Ingles deal and probably trade Schroder somewhere. They have even been talking about bringing Theis back which is depressing.

I'll be curious to see what the Cavs might do. It's insane that they're only a few games out of the top seed. I believe they have some expiring contracts and/or picks they could give up for some nice pieces.

I think Miami need to find a way to trade Duncan Robinson. They found another gem shooter in Max Strus + they need some cap space to sign Oladipo next year.

Why would the Heat (or any team for that matter) want to sign Oladipo to any significant amount of money?

Exactly what I was thinking

The thinking up to that point was solid though. But I really doubt they trade away Duncan.

Dipo. Haha.

Well, i said some cap space. Not significant lol
Oladipo healthy is 16pts 4reb 4ast 1.5stl
Right now he has a minimum deal 1.7m, next year he will be at least 8.5m

Miami also need cap space to extend tyler herro

My outside the box trade would be Simmons/Maxey to Utah for Mitchell. Maybe include picks going to Utah. I don’t think Mitchell and Gobert will ever be cool with each other again. Utah needs help on defense and I think teaming Simmons and Gobert fixes that. I think Maxey can give at least 75% of what Mitchell does and he is young and potential to get better. Simmons would be 3rd or 4th option on offense and I think Utah would be a good market for his personality where he could help compete for a championship someplace with a lot less national media spotlight.

That would be an interesting team.

The question is, who would they go to late in games? Simmons and Gobert are not that guy.

Conley would have to wind back the clock.

Ingles doesn't like the moment at times either. So it's down to Bojan.

Yes that’s the problem I guess. Hopefully Maxey could be a crunch time scorer but then you’re hoping Bojan and Clarkson can knock down clutch 3s. But the current Jazz seem like a good regular season team that won’t be able to get over the hump with their current roster.

I don't think they're any worse that's for sure.

They'd be just as tough. Simmons would get some guys involved too.
