Would have to think with all of his recent complaining about workload and most likely having to promote Space Jam 2 that Lebron will probably opt out (if he hasn't already), but then again, he is definitely a glory chaser, and this may very well be his last chance at adding another gold medal. Will be interesting to see what he decides.

Why doesn't Upper Deck try and sign a licensing deal with the Olympics. They could make an exquisite and base UD set with all of the different Olympic sports. They would literally have 2 years to produce it between each year. I know they like to pump out Jordan stuff and it seems like an easy avenue to get at current players as it would be avoiding all NBA licensing agreement.

They could use another big unless Bam is playing a ton of minutes and/or they go small ball a lot.

Watching the Nets has convinced me the center position is completely obsolete.

I'd like to see PG/CP3/Zion/Jaylen Brown to close it.

In the past, teams like Spain who had two bigs (Gasol bros) caused some tough mismatches inside. I'm not going to claim I know rosters of teams outside the U.S., but I'm sure there'd be a team or two with some bigs inside that could cause issues. Wouldn't hurt to have a couple good bigs in case of emergency, but I don't disagree with you. We saw how well the Clippers countered Gobert with small ball so maybe it doesn't matter.

I'm pretty excited about the Olympics basketball.

If I'm honest, I want to see the USA not win as much as I want to see Australia win.

I'd guess Duncan Robinson, Jerami Grant, Myles Turner, Derrick White.

Nice to see wiggins back playing for us. Would have been nice to have Thompson and brooks but I’m sure they have their reasons. Definitely a shame when arguably are two best players aren’t playing because of injury (Murray and SGA) and Boucher injured as well but hopefully we win the qualifying tourney in Victoria and go to the Olympics. Oh by the way Toronto Star trey Lyles is from Saskatoon, SK not Ontario!!! Lyles and Dort will probably be the only non Ontario players on the squad

They can only fail by not taking the gold. USA Men’s basketball should win gold eveytime by a large margin of the best we had played.

This is true but a lot of the other countries have enough good players on their team that anything can happen in a single elimination tournament. The single elimination aspect is what makes it so fun to watch. That final against Spain (I think 2012, maybe it was 2016) we had an absolutely loaded team and it took all we had to narrowly beat them for the gold. The gap is closing. Geopolitics have helped as well. The former Yugoslavia would destroy everyone if that country were still together. Joker, luka, bogdanovic’s, about 10 more quality NBA bigs, dragic . . . . The list is just loaded.

Added. Thank you.

CP3 has reportedly declined as well.

They need to add a young guy who will be in his prime in 2024. I am thinking Trae, Ja or Melo if they add a point guard.

Ja and LaMelo arent on the finalist list.

I doubt they get added over anyone of the list I posted.

Trae is probably concerned with making and playing in the Finals. I know, I know, others still playing already commited.

Why is Kevin Love on the team? Is he going to be like what Udonis Haslem is for the Heat?
