I’ve made up my mind that I’m going to rip some hidden fates. From breaks ive watched on tins, it seems pretty “reasonable” to at least get my money back in value.
Why are the tins so much cheaper than ETBs? $9 per pack in the tins compared to $30 in the ETBs. Surely the promo card doesn’t make up the price discrepancy. What gives?

Well this is a reprint of the tins while the ETBs weren't reprinted so more tins out there. Also, ETBs tend to be more collectible.

That's right, there wasn't a 1st edition print or anything from the first time around. But I think you need to look at the tins and ETBs separately. It's not purely a price per pack calc. There's a limited supply of sealed ETBs and ppl will pay a premium for a limited sealed product.

When all retail pretty much closed that was considered non-essential....... game stop had curb side pick up only at their stores nation-wide. This began around early april i believe. they had a 20 percent off sale on toy and this included cards...... every single one of the game stops within an hour of me had the 10 pack sealed ball collections in stock (im sure everywhere across the us had them as stock was available through the middle of may at some locations; so if it didnt sell out in 6 weeks im sure people just didn't know about it).... i got 13 of these at 40 per...... to this day it's the best hidden fates wax deal i've ever seen (although the 9.99 tins on black friday was a huge win if you could find them)..... but the game stop sale was after they had really started increasing in value; it was really weird that nobody was buying them around me

I've been buying up a ton of the tins and collection boxes. Ripped a few.
Have to say Hidden Fates is one of my fav pack rips. A foil in every pack. Can't go wrong with that. Yet to pull the SV49. Purchased the card graded and raw separately as well. Just a gorgeous card overall. I have been trying to understand what will more likely get you the big blue guy. Ripping from tins or boxes and which character. Talking to a lot of the pokemon guys at Frank N Sons who own booths and ripped a lot of it. Doesnt seem to be any pattern. But..... A few guys said the ETBs had the worst pull rate compared to tins or boxes chasing Sv49. ![]() Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

I read somewhere your best bet is tins and
of those - Gyrados, Picakchu, Charizard in that order. |

My son pulled a Charizard out of a Gyrados tin. It was the very last tin he opened and we never found any more of them around here.

ETBs also have the promo that seems to sell decently. I opened a bunch of tins and a couple ETBs during the initial release. I felt the ETBs I had the best pulls but I did not hit super great as it was. Hoping to find a few more of the restock tins, still no Champion's Path for me either :/

I’m still wondering if the reprints that run will have a “2nd edition” stamp on it... or something

Sports collector here.
I bought some hidden fates tins I found in the wild (11) What should I do with them ? Rip (I have no idea what the contents are ) hold ? Resell? What is the learning curve for understanding what I’d even be pulling ? |

Any idea on approximate odds of pulling it assuming a fair collation ?
1 in 10 tins ? 100? 1000? Is there other overlay or is it strictly feast or famine ? |
