Boy, Topps is pumping the Alvarez RC now. It could be the showcase of every product.

Hm, not sure how I feel. TCU stickers won't look good on these.

Doesn't seem like these parallels are going to pop very well. Maybe they'll grow on me over time

Not excited about any 2020 cards I’ve seen so far.

I think these will look better than the mocks -- all small images in this case that I had to blow up in some instances.

Topps is producing so much nonsports stuff right now that is all shot widescreen and they're used to using horizontal cards with no borders to capture that. That's awesome. Nonsports has a history of horizontal cards and for a widescreen television show or movie that makes sense to do with no borders.

But stop. Really. That entire design is based on a horizontal photograph. It doesn't work at all for a vertical photo and doesn't make any kind of sense, compositionally. With everything going on right now, we need borders to measure more than ever. Be conscious of what is going on in the hobby.

I agree with this. The refractors look a lot better with colored borders.

New Topps product: “2020 Topps Chrome Borders”...and of course it will be available exclusively online.

Perhaps they’ll make bordered and in-bordered variations every year now.

I wish I could get excited for this, but at the $100+ per hobby box it'll be, or retail with scant autos/color, it's hard to anymore. I don't even have a complete base set yet from buying I think $300+ in retail this year.

But I'm trying to buy less boxes next year anyway because my collection is getting too large and taking up too much space. So maybe it's a blessing I'm not that excited? Some of those rookie reprint relics could be really nice though.

This years chrome put me off. I like the product but too expensive for a bunch of autos nobody wants. I check the price of it every day and laugh every time it increases. I think this stuff is going to be around forever.

I truly love opening packs, but have removed Topps Chrome from that and will only buy the parallels I want.

I don't love this design for flagship.

I know they've been getting weird the past 5 years, but this looks more like Bowman to me than Topps. Kinda blah.

The 2020 flagship design reminded me of something from the past. Turns out I was thinking of some much hallowed Score inserts from the early ‘90s!

Topps will never do full borders again.

If they did, they would have the grading crowd flooding them with hate mail complaining about cards not looking perfectly centered in every pack.
