Interesting. . . one of the better Netflix Marvel shows, surprised to see this. Hope it is a lower price point than Defenders.

MAPP pricing somewhere around $89 a box, maybe a bit cheaper.

Releases in February.

At least there's rumors Berenthal will remain the Punisher in the MCU.

I think Joker and Venom helped prove it's not just Deadpool that will bring in money for R-rated flicks and anti-heroes are the hot thing now.

I feel like they could've combined Seasons 1 and 2 into one set though given how far behind they are, but for people who love the show they probably want more base cards, idk.

You think 2 $850+ Million movies convinced Hollywood R rated films work? That's a reach.

Berenthal as Punisher in MCU proper would be interesting. Any one of the Disney+ shows could work.

Well considering the fans likely would hate a PG-13 version of any dark heroes, its fair to say they'll be wise.

Plus by this point I think Feige has earned the right to tell the higher ups when something will or will not work.

I also think parents are way more open to taking teens to R rated movies than before given how violent video games and TV shows are nowadays.

Vargaman was correct.

As for the card release: Stickers and another pass. I love Daredevil, but couldn’t buy those crappy sticker cards. Berenthal’s signature has gotten really bad in recent releases as well.

If we never get more Punisher, I'll be fine with that. To me, the two seasons of the show were great. Out of all the Netflix/Marvel shows, Punisher was the only one I cared a lot about. If they made a Disney+ show, I'd be all in. I just dno't know what the contract rights are like with Netflix. I heard that Netflix had the rights for these characters for the time being. I could be way off though, and probably am.

https://comicbook.com/marvel/2019/04...ger-two-years/

The split between Disney and Netflix came as a surprise to some fans, who didn't expect for Netflix to cancel one of its most popular shows in Daredevil. That came after a string of cancellations for other Marvel shows like Luke Cage and Iron Fist and was followed by cancellations for Jessica Jones and The Punisher. Since that happened many have started to wonder when these heroes could show up in Marvel's current movie or TV stable, as the contract between Netflix and Marvel indicated it would be at least two years. A new report though indicates it will be even longer.

The previous understanding of the contract suggested that Disney couldn't revive those series or use those heroes for two years, but according to a new report by Indiewire, it will be significantly longer. At the Avengers: Endgame premiere a production executive told them that Disney has been warned by lawyers not to even start developing content featuring those characters until that two year period is over.

Many had assumed that Marvel would start developing projects with these heroes so that after the two years expired they could move those into production, but it seems the contract in some way prevents that or at least opens up Disney to being sued for breach of contract if Netflix finds out.

If that's true, that means it will be at least 2020 before development even begins, pushing any actual series or project out for another year or two at least. Luke Cage and Iron Fist would be the first characters available, while the most popular character Daredevil wouldn't be available until October 2020 for development, meaning we might not see a new implementation of the character before 2021 at the earliest and more likely 2022.

Jessica Jones and The Punisher would be pushed out even further, as those shows weren't canceled until 2019, putting them more than likely in the 2023 frame.

Are there any card images or checklist. Or have you just ordered based on the sell sheet? I loved the show actually, but on the odd time have looked have struggled to find any sort of card pictures for the set etc.

None at all really, I just took a shot in the dark. It was very under ordered. Southern hobby only got a few cases across all their warehouses.

Cant wait. Of course my wait is gonna be longer cause I only purchase them off epack. And going to be even longer still cause I'll make the bulk of my purchases during a BOGO sale. Still looking forward to seeing a checklist though.

I just noticed the old posts saying people wouldn't like a PG-13 Punisher, but the Netflix series seemed fairly PG-13 to me. I don't think they would have had to cut out much, if anything to air it on network TV instead of Netflix.

After all, Americans are cool with violence. It's boobies that shock and disturb us.

I don't think it's the violence that got Deadpool an R rating, although they cut a tiny bit of that for the PG-13 cut. It was language and crude/sexual humor, which Punisher doesn't really have.

The odd thing to me about Deadpool is that everyone said the movies needed to be R-rated to work. I've read the Deadpool comics for years, and they are PG most of time, PG-13 at worse. The violence is toned down and cartoony, there's no bad language, and the sexual humor is very, very mild. There have been a few MAX or R-rated Deadpool mini-series but for the most part, his ongoing series are fairly clean.

Checklist yet? Any idea of what the cards might look like?

I was wandering if they might also roll Season 2 in to this release? I actually enjoyed season 2 even more than the first. It had some fantastic character development.

Yeah... missing a number of key characters, and rarity distribution means maybe breaking one box. Good luck to those that open this. Gonna be a lottttt of cheap autographs based on the rarity levels.

Here are the base autographs from the checklist:

Another terribly overpriced and not so timely UD product.

These will be $30 a box in a year.

I got one box arrived today. Not terrible. I'll throw down a thread in the break section of the breakdown once I check for sp cards

Saw a 3 box break today, the cards look pretty cool. I especially like the metal autos but not a fan at all of the corp autos.
