Do you see any big trades and where does Harper and Machado go to?

Apparently he hasn't decided if he's going to opt out. Said next 3 days will be interesting/fun.

He should sign with Houston. Comes back to his home State. Still has a chance to win. Strome could work his magic. Verlander/Kershaw/Cole would be sick.

Probably won't happen though. I can dream though.

My guess is after 2 years on whatever team does sign Machado wishes they didn't and shops him.

I fully* expect to see Harper and Machado on big budget AL teams.

I think Machado is Philly bound. I hope so too. It will be easy to continue to root against him. The Phillies and their fans are horrible. I have grown to really dislike him over the last couple of weeks and would hate for my team to be in play for him.

Every fanbase of every professional sports team has its 5 percenters that make the other 95 percenters shake their heads and say “we’re not with those guys”

Sure the degrees of idiocy vary but there’re bad eggs everywhere

But...but...but they threw snowballs at Santa Claus. (drunk guy in the stands where a Santa suit in the late 60s)
But...but...but they threw batteries at JD Drew. (one guy threw 2 batteries at him)
But...but..but they booed their own players. (all fans boo their players if they are unhappy with them. I was in Baltimore in 1988 and heard the very few fans in the stadium boo all the players.)
But...but...but they had a jail in their stadium. (I find that to be a good thing so the dreck could be taken out of the stadium.)
But..but...but they threw beer bottles at their QB. (Oops, that was Cleveland)
But...but..but they ran on the field and physically attacked a first base coach of the opposing team. (Oops, that was in Chicago.)
But...but...but an opposing fan was nearly killed in the parking lot after a game by one of the fans. (Oh wait, that was an SF/LA game.)

Machado goes to whomever pays him. Harper probably also.

If Kershaw is smart, he doesn't opt out and mentors Buehler and Urias and is happy when they pitch better than him.

And that would make him smart how?

What’s smart, for all of them, is to get paid as much as possible

With all the moves the Nationals made this season, i would think there is little chance Harper re-signs with the Nationals.

As a Cubs fan I am a little indifferent on the idea of him on the team. This year he did little to justify he is worth the contract he will demand.

Before the playoffs i would have wanted Machado on the Cubbies, however now i feel he would be toxic to that young core.

What moves did the nats make that would hurt them signing him?

Why would he opt out? He would be insane. No one is giving him 120 over 4 years.

I'm hoping Brewers might be able to get Sonny Gray for cheap. Brewers pitching coach was his coach at Vandy and maybe fix him. If Brewers get him cheap enough and fix him back to Oakland time would have their front line starter they need for 2019.

Machado needs to get with a mentor and grow up.

I was watching Fox and Pedro was railing on this kid - about his previous leg kick/cleat and saying he has never had anyone to tell him to grow up and act like a professional.

Teams will take notice of all his transgressions and that could potentially cost him.

He is a good player, I don't disagree. But VERY immature

I would not touch Machado with a 10 foot pole He's a crybaby shows poor sportsmanship and to me can be a big distraction in the clubhouse. The thing that amazes me is he gets interviews on ESPN and is portrayed as the face of the Dodgers in all the WS coverage.

I just read an amusing Hot Stove article. It seemed to declare that only about 5 teams should sign anyone at all, and only about 5 Free Agents were even worth signing. The team-by-team comments were that repetitive. And any player over 29 should just be taken out behind the barn, and, well, you know.
