"He cheats. He gets away with that. He's Sidney Crosby.'' - Logan Couture, Sore Loser

Logan Couture accuses Sidney Crosby of cheating on faceoffs - San Jose Mercury News

I didn't figure Couture for such a whiner. He sounds like all those Crosby-hating trolls now. Clearly Crosby isn't just winning the battles on the ice, he's also winning the mental game.

They scored one goal. It would take an awful lot of cheating by Crosby to hold the Sharks to one goal. Kinda surprising that their veteran leadership would allow this to be said.

Like when they went to a replay during a pause, and we saw Thornton punch Sid in the head, knock his helmet off, and crosscheck him in the back. And Sid doesn't react. Hm.

Exactly. Yet the haters will claim that Crosby whines.

he's just frustrated since they're down 0-2. doesn't help that his face off % isn't that good either.

The only thing worse than a sore loser, is a sore winner (see Pens fans). You guys have been there before as fans, try acting like it.

+1

And Sharks fans are so far and few between around these parts..... you're unlikely to have anyone from the opposing fan base to argue against.

Why waste time arguing though, it really is pointless and only proves someone is bored and trying to find something to do. I watch the Sharks games and win or lose most of the time I don't comment and move on to the next thing I'm doing as most sports fans should. Might help that I don't get drunk too

+1 for being an evenly tempered sports fan. I am a Pittsburgh fan to my core, but the past two series, I had nothing against the Bolts or the Sharks. No need for animosity ever...talking sports is just fun.

Like when my co-workers asked who I'd rather see them face, either Tampa Bay or Pittsburgh, I would tell them I didn't really have much emotion towards facing the Lightning. I hope somehow the Sharks could win the series but if they come up short the end result would be fine with me in seeing Crosby winning the Cup again

And where would we see these alleged sore winner Pens fans? Can you provide an example?

I haven't seen a single Pens fan on this forum rubbing in the results of the games 1 or 2. Those were 2 tough games that could have gone either way... nothing to be a sore winner over. And when the Pens beat Tampa Bay, Pens fans were generally complimentary to the Bolts. Cheering on your team and being happy they won is not the same as being a sore winner.

Couture telling the media that Crosby cheats is being a sore loser.

Don't think Sindy is cheating it's just good play by him. Now have lots of calls gone the pens way yes can say that . It's happened all playoffs for the Pens the refs are on the pens side so any team playing them needs to play better than the Pens/ refs just how it is this season. Either way The Bolts lost game seven by not showing up for 2 periods for the 2nd straight game.

LeBron James and Sidney Crosby were cut from the same cloth.

Having said that...go Pens...finish 'em.

Nothing new from Couture if you knew him personally.

These guys have been babied all their life.

There it is!! The old "THE NHL LOVES CROSBY AND THE PENS!!! THE PENS GET ALL THE CALLS!!!! THE REFS FAVOR THE THE PENS!!!!"

The absolute worse kind of fan there is. Honestly you sound like such a sore loser when you start trying to say the refs are just all on the pens side.... Have you even watched any of these games fully from beginning to end??? The refs have favored nobody at all and have been so inconsistent in just about every game of every series this playoffs..... Weren't you the same guy that came into the pens thread saying that this is all rigged and fake since the pens came back and beat the bolts? That the NHL wanted the pens in the finals that's the only reason why they are going? If you really think pro sports is staged like that then why bother even watching or being a fan?

Wait ...isn't Couture the one that stuck his stick into gameplay from the bench a few years back and hit the puck away from an opposing player?????

If the refs, and the NHL, are on the Pens side they do a terrible job at it.

How many times did the Sharks clearly have too many men on the ice last night? At least twice that I saw and they weren't called on it either time.

Very true. And its the same cloth that gave us guys like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Babe Ruth, etc.

This story is nothing new as many league coaches and players have been saying this for years, this is just something that was brought to the forefront by Couture.

It's just good/smart gamesmanship as I'm sure the refs will take extra notice for the remainder of the series, Crosby's a big boy and knows very well what he is doing all good players take advantage of the rules when possible.

The Crosby fanatics have a real hard time with ANY criticism that comes his way.

Just lose with class. Be a man.

Pens deserve to be up 2-0. No doubt about that whatsoever.
