2013-14 Panini Italian Boxes

Hello,

I came across some odd boxes at my LCS today and wondering if anyone has busted or has info on them? They are the Italian version of Hoops I think? Some of the subsets include Class Action, Sparkplugs, Hall of Fame, etc like the regular US version of Hoops, but they are shiny silver versus the dull finish we see here. Also, they have some cards with a cool gold facsimile auto on them, I think 5 per box? The base cards look slightly different too, almost a cross between Hoops and Panini.

Are these rookies, gold autos and inserts heavily sought after since they are not what we see here in the US or not worth the time and effort to buy and bust? Like I said, can’t find anything on EBay even saying Italian version or anything?? I appreciate any help you all can provide!

It’s the Hoops set, condensed to 150 cards with a different border design. Cards are renumbered and the copyright info is the European info rather than American.

You’ll get about 100 Base cards per box, so a 2/3 chance to pull Giannis. The Giannis go for about $40 last I checked.

You have a chance at the Heat Championship foil SP (which is 151 in this set)

If the checklist is 150 cards, and you have 100 cards in a box, by binomial distribution you have a 51% chance of not getting any Giannis card (assuming you have a 1/150 chance on every attempt). At the same time, you have a 14% chance at getting 2 or more Giannis cards

Collation is pretty good. You're not really getting doubles.

Yea that calculation is done assuming every card's chance of being a Giannis is independent of all the other cards, which isn't really correct.
