Default Storing Vintage - 1956 and Prior

I've been picking up '56 and prior cards for my Yankees team set project and was wondering if anyone could talk about how they store their older stuff? I purchased some of the 8-pocket pages, which will work for some of these guys. What about the oversized cards from early Topps and also the early Bowman cards?

If you are looking to keep them in binders. Another option is to put them in card savers and then in a 4-pocket page.

The only pre-1956 cards I have are 1952 Topps. I am about 30% finished building a low-number set (1-310) in low-mid grade. I go back and forth between keeping the cards in 8-pocket sheets/binder and in Ultra-Pro Vintage toploaders (made for 52-56 Topps). While I like the protection of toploaders/sleeves, I enjoy looking at cards in binders. The rest of my sets are in binders so I will probably go back to sheets/binder for my 52's because I tend to be a little OCD. In addition, I don't worry much about condition in binders since my cards aren't high grade. If you do move to sheets, I would suggest putting the cards in Ultra Pro Vintage sleeves to add an extra layer of protection.

I prefer binders as well. A lot of my higher end cards are graded, so I scan and print a copy of the card to put into the binder as a placeholder - who wants an empty spot in the binder!

Some good suggestions here. I'm using D-Ring binders as the cards sit flat in storage with those. Any other suggestions?

May give this a try.

Has anyone ever tried to display their PSA/BVG/SGC stuff in a binder?

way too thick. It works, but you aren't getting many in one binder. I don't think it looks good that way. As I stated earlier, card savers work better. Also, I have done a toploader/team bag. This works if you prefer a little more rigid protection. Put the toploader in backwards in the team bag and seal it against the 4-pocket sleeve. Keeps it from sliding out.
