I was looking for some high end Wiggins stuff and I sorted from highest to lowest. The first Flawless card that comes up is this:
2014 15 Flawless Andrew Wiggins Encased Emerald Rookie Patch Auto True RPA 3 5 | eBay Ok, fine, that is what some consider the "true" RPA (even though it's uglier and there is no true RPA lol) So then I scroll down and see this: 2014-15 Flawless Rookie ANDREW WIGGINS 3 Colors PATCH AUTO RC Gold 09/10 RPA Now I don't know which one of these was listed first but I scroll down one more (these are just the top 3) and I see this: 2014 15 Panini Flawless Momentous Rookie Auto Patch Andrew Wiggins 4 5 4 Color | eBay Now. I'm looking at this from both sides, seller and buyer. I'm just looking for your thoughts on the prices here. If I'm the seller of the gold momentous rpa, I'm pissed that the same card I have only emerald and with a better patch is $1500 less than my card. To me that just drives the price down. Think about Flawless, $1700ish a box. $3400 a case. If one of the best hits, the Wiggins Emerald RPA with a nice patch is at $3500 BIN only that sucks. Because how can Flawless be worth buying if one of the top cards in the whole product isn't worth more than a case. IMO that card SHOULD be an instant BIN hit... but maybe it's not because maybe Flawless isn't looked at the way it used to be for w/e reason. But anyway if I had the gold and I hit that in a box I'm like wow, I thought my BIN/BEST was ok since I paid $1700 for my box, maybe a little high but now it just looks greedy... do I too have to go to like $2999.99 BIN/BEST, again meaning one of the top hitsproducts in the friggin product can't even pay for a case!? As a buyer, this seems like a buyers delight, Wiggins just seems to be hitting his stride, his team is hot and there are fewer and fewer of his Flawless cards each week (27 at the time of this OP). So dasiegel, what are you trying to do, if it's that good why aren't you buying it!? Great question alternate universe dasiegel, the answer is, IDK. ![]() I basically am rambling at this point but if you have read this far to be clear: How do you feel as a buyer and as a seller when thinking about selling or purchasing a card and similar cards are priced "out of order" that is to say a more rare version is listed for less than it's higher version counterpart? Does that tell you anything about the card's future market or bring up any concerns? Any positives?

I feel like a lot of sellers under-value and sell their cards low, simply to move the product. As a box breaking fan, it hurts because i can't come close to breaking even when trying to sell. On the other hand, it's a buyers market. I guess hopefully someone snatches up the wiggins and relist and matches prices with the other green.
I am a little surprised with these flawless auto's not selling for more.. but with Panini eminence coming down the road, these values could drop. Guess at the end of the day, all that matters is "will wiggins be the next big thing?" If he is, all his cards will be super steals today. If he only reaches all-star caliber, his cards will begin to fizzle, especially super high end. |

The first Emerald RPA auction was manipulated and shilled up to $4400
After the auction, an overseas seller with the same card, sold it for $3250. Very strange if you ask me. It makes me think that they bid it up to that amount only to make it look like their buyers were getting a steal at $3250 Based on what the Ruby and Silver versions go for $1000-1300, I would not pay a penny over $2500 for the Emerald version. |

What runs through my head is that if a person really cared about the value of their cards dropping, they would do a better job at keeping the values up.

I think a lot depends on the calling card for each set. Realistically you can get high end Wiggins RPA's out of several sets (NT, Imm, Flawless, etc.) Flawless has the gem cards that are unique strictly to Flawless and I think those are the real chase cards from the set.
Completely anecdotal with no evidence or research to support. ![]() |

Why would a green /5 drive the price down for gold /10 listed at $5k? Just because the owner of gold /10 put a ridiculous listing price, we somehow agree that $5k listing is reasonable?
Second, Flawless setup is a different animal. It has 1k card and many $100s cards. It does not build with $10k with $10 cards. Lasty, what really drive the price down is the past listing. This /5 sold for $1675. The top of the class /5 is just $765. So, why would anyone pay double as of Nov, 2015? It will take awhile or some serious hype from Wiggins to push the card to $3.5k.

And then when sellers price their cards 'at market' the buyers start threads complaining about prices being too high. It's rare to satisfy both parties in the transaction.

Who cares? A seller can sell for whatever price they want. It's not their job to check with others with the same/similar card to see if they think it's ok first.
