Default Billy Beane Should Be Fired

Yes I think Mr. Moneyball should be fired for this collapse before it really gets bad, it reminds me of when the Mets blew the division twice to the Phillies in 2007 and 2008. Lester for Cespedes did in the chemistry, Jake for Russell is going to be one of those really bad ones if Russell becomes a superstar, and what he should have realized that Donaldson and Moss were mostly one year wonders. I think they are on the way down after this year, they have Gray yes whom is excellent, but Jake is only a 3, and what else after that. Doolittle can't close a big game either, so closer is a question mark.

I don't think he should be fired.........but trading Cespedes hurt their chemistry and also made it easier to pitch around the other guys. Even if Cespedes wasn't having a great year average wise........you still feared him. Even Hitler agrees.

He has overachieved with a shoestring budget for years and in a place where free agents don't want to play even if the team could afford them. He has one bad year while going for a ring and you want to be off with his head? You people. As an Angels fan, I meant to say, hell yes, fire the bum.

for all the restrictions he has to work with, he's the best GM in the game without a doubt IMO

Look at that offensive lineup and tell me which of their players you'd want on your team....i bet there wouldn't be very many at all

LOL at firing him.

Theres not another GM in baseball who can produce even close to the results he does with the money he has to work with.

Their ridiculous run was bound to regress at some point. If you want to fire him for the last 5 weeks then you would have had to want to make him President of All Baseball for the past 2.5 years. You can't have it both ways.

I'll give you this much....he clearly went away from his standard MO at the trade deadline this year. He was obviously trying something different in trading FOR high-end talent and pitching. Looks like it backfired and he won't ever do that again.

Gotta admit...as a Ranger fan.....this is soooooo much fun to watch. Couldn't happen to a better group of lucky bastards.

How do you know that trading Cespedes hurt the chemistry? Cespedes has been hot garbage since the trade, and Lester has been even better than he was in Boston. Could it be that they simply stopped overachieving simultaneous to the trade? Lester>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Cespedes

The Russell for Shark deal was not good.

Sports fans are so zero sum. Unless there is a championship at the end, winning seasons and regular playoff runs still mean … the boss sucks. Fire the bum. I'm smarter than he is.

If Beane trades away Sonny or Pomeranz before 2019, I will fire him myself.

Nobody else would be able to do what Billy Beane does with how little he is given to work with. With one of the lowest budgets in baseball (some seasons it is the absolute lowest) Beane continues to put out a playoff contending team. He makes one mistake and he should be fired? Typical mwash type of comment.

I would gladly trade our GM Frank Wren for Billy Beane. In fact, the Braves will probably be needing a new GM when our season is over so I hope he is fired and the Braves hire him.
