Default Jersey Fusion Monstrosities

Been searching for early 2000s Fleer Game Used cards of some of my favorite guys and keep coming across these Jersey Fusion cards and oh my are they not pretty in my opinion. Looks like this company just sticks an old card in a one-touch like case and then glues some game used jersey pieces to the one-touch? Sometimes multiple pieces obscuring the entire card and even patches?

Is there anybody out there collecting these or are these more like something a grandma buys for a present or someone new to the game buys before they realize their mistake? Hard to believe these have any future value.

I don't have any myself, but if you are a game used collector, it's a cheaper way to get game used stuff. You can also see where the memorabilia is sourced from

I have found the original game used cards from the 2000s are often cheaper than the Jersey Fusion cards.

This product could only work during peak COVID.

It was targeted toward people that were desperate to burn money but either lacked the funds for licensed products, or were somehow locked out of the hobby market.

Same concept as the mid 2000's junk they'd sell at target with a swatch of jersey in a BGS holder.

I would imagine that most of the people that bought these were in the hobby between 2020 and 2022 and never came back.

Was at an LCS over the weekend and they had a shelf full of these junk cards on display. And I do mean, junk.

For my money, Hits Memorabilia did it the right way, their company created actual cards featuring amazing pieces of memorabilia inside them, and they also documented where the pieces of memorabilia were taken from, including verified JSA/Beckett certification and pictures on their website

My Derek Jeter 1/1 that I managed to pick up for $60 bucks in 2018

Being more of a memorabilia than a card guy, the problem even with HITS is a lot of those game used memorabilia inserted into the cards with TPA like MEARS, Grey Flannel were junk.

With premium cards going for so much, I don't understand why all cards with GU swatches can't go the way of Topps Now cards where every piece has MLB authentication sticker that can be traced to the the exact game the piece was used in. I heard it costs card companies about $10 per piece to get them stickered by MLB which should be worth it.

True. The Jeter pants/jersey in my card has documentation from Steiner/NY Yankees Sports Team Partnership, plus pictures from the Yankees confirming matching certification showing it is authentic and game used.

I honestly wouldn't have purchased it without any of that documentation on-hand (which I confirmed, and have kept in a gallery/image folder, if I ever do decide to sell this card)

That's it. The company noticed the card boom during covid and wanted to make some moolah. They look horrible even though I have seen some cool swatches. A lot of cards got ruined, however.

At least they're nowhere near as hideous as Project 2020 or the other crap Silas Barnaby keeps posting in that thread.
