Default 2025 Vintage Pickups Thread

Not a vintage card per se but happy to add an Aaron auto to the PC.

Happy New Year!

First cards of the year arrived yesterday.
I already had the first one with nice color and registration.
The signed card is a little flat on color but I liked the ballpoint signature.
Got the 3rd because I like to find samples of bad printing that should have been flagged and culled by the pressmen during production.

1962 Topps #357 Jerry Walker

Walker was 85 when he passed away this past July.

Not so much as pickups, as returns from PSA -- freshly graded

Nicest looking 6 I have ever seen...I was looking at this and thought it was an 8

Thought this was an 8 and got a 9....

I chose to bid on this rough 1969 Topps Aaron knowing it would go for cheap since someone put initials (I assume) on the back.
The writing doesn't bother me at all since I share the same initials!
I have never owned a 69 Aaron so I was happy to receive it in hand yesterday!

I am going to make a big purchase in February. I sold my only Mickey Mantle last year and need a nice one! I want to spend between $500 - $800. I am thinking a nice 1960 Topps. If you could choose one, which one would you pick?

I only own a 1959 Topps Mickey Mantle and a 1964 Topps AL Bombers with Mantle. If it were me, I would purchase a nice PSA/SGC 2 to round out my 1956 Topps collection.

The 1956 Topps and 1955 Bowman are both cards I am considering.

Under $1k, probably not looking at '56. '59 is one of my faves, but I always get outbid on the centered PSA-6s.

I personally like the '54 Bowman the most of the '53-'55.

Hard to go wrong.

Are you thinking 1960 Topps Mantle #350 or the all star? I'd probably opt for the all star, but that's probably not the card to get with $500-$800.

I stay away from all-star and league leader cards personally, just go after base. There are so many cards that I would like to get, that I need to put up certain guiderails so I don't get overwhelmed, well keeping being overwhelmed to a minimum.

These (2) Mantles below set me back $1,250.00....so I think your $500-$800 range for a nice mid grade copy of any 60s Mantle will be obtainable in that range

These are my two most recent Vintage pickups. The Gale Sayers I got in January. The Hank Aaron I picked up a while back. I love Vintage cards, and modern also. But, Vintage is so much more fun than arguing about "bounty" cards... or whatever is going on with which card of the moment in Modern.

Beautiful Aaron! I have a perfectly centered PSA 4 and CGC 4.5 and I can't let either go. The blue, red, and yellow with the logo and the rest of the card makes that card pop. That card keeps on going up and up

Default Early 1960's HOF rookies Lou brock and Willie Stargell

My picks up as i am rounding out my 60's Vintage HOF rookie collection, starting to move to the 50's but from what i see PSA grades are the best way to go.

Picked this one up at the West Coast Card Show this weekend. Had my eyes out for one for a long time now, so was glad to finally be able to check it off the list. e.

I absolutely love the SK Ruth, I have 3 now but this is my newest and nicest so far. Really solid card outside of the surface print loss areas. Very happy to have snagged this copy.

That 66 NFL Sayers is very iconic.
