Default What's the craziest thing, interaction, card etc that you've seen at the National?

I'm sure some of you have some crazy stories!

Seeing OJ show up and start signing autographs out of the blue in Chicago in 2005. I didn't fork over the $100 he was asking, but I did shake his hand as he was walking out, alas it was shortly before selfies & phone cameras.

They booted him shortly after him setting up lol. But I got the auto/photo and he really couldn't have been nicer.

For those in the Tristar autograph area 2 years ago the answer is obvious... Deborah thinking she knew how to grade Kareem rookies better than the grading companies. After what she pulled I highly doubt Tristar will bring him back. They didn't even get through the line priority people. Did it ever come up how many people had to get refunds after wasting time waiting?

(I'm hoping this doesn't play out again with Giannis.)

I think he was there signing for a good 30-60 minutes before he got the boot. I didn't realize he was kicked out until the next day after reading about it in the paper, remember hearing him say "we've got to go!" and as he's walking out, people were walking up to him and shaking hands and giving him stuff and what not, that's when I said "hey, Juice" to him. Agreed that he was real nice that day. Heard that he signed across the street at the hotel or something for another couple hours.

It's always fun to be walking around the National and see some random celebrity out of the blue. Two years ago I was walking around and there was Emmitt Smith 5 feet from me, I think at the eBay corporate setup. A couple years before that Steve Grad and Rick Harrison walking around the corporate area. Got one of the hot dog eating contest guy's autographs for free one year. (Matt Stonie) Same for the guy that played the kid that stuck his tongue to a flag pole in Christmas Story at Panini's booth. I think the year OJ was kicked out, they also kicked out Dominque Wilkins too, but they brought him back officially the next day via Tristar, obviously the same wasn't done for OJ.

I know the forums here aren’t a fan of him but I got cussed out by Gary Vee in 2019 for hustling him to hard. The same year, Denis Rodman’s security almost trampled me cuz i got squeezed out of the crowd by accident at the wrong time.

The crazy thing about those 2 events is that I was 15 at the time. I still think Gary Vee cussing me out is achievement based on his choice of words and how he talks in general

MeelyPoops going radio silent after he made his annual "hey friends can't wait to see you at The National" thread right after the Logan Paul/Pokemon debacle

And then seeing him get plopped in the back corner of Chicago, out of sight out of mind I guess....

If you're talking about Ludex, they were the sponsor for the VIP room in 2023. The app isn't bad but I prefer the Card Ladder App much more.

ETA: If they were smart they'd get a sponsor for the Wi-Fi and make sure it works well.

I'm talking about the video itself. The lower left corner rotates between a few companies. One of them is "Titan MRI and Imaging."

That's actually a medical company. It's not rocket science. The three rotating sponsors are CGC, a law firm, and a medical company.
