Default 2025 French Open

Really enjoyed the Rafa tribute today - the big four being there, his footprint being added permanently to the court, how much it meant to him. Just a great moment.

No huge upsets today - biggest was probably Nakashima going out so early. Sucked seeing Fernandez lose already in the women's as well.

Shelton had a good match. Hopefully his ankle is ok.

Nakashima kinda stinks so I wasn’t surprised.

Iva Jovic may be or is the next young one to watch, not a Mirra level or anything but gets her wins, one a pretty close one against Zarazua today. Wish games weren’t so freaking early for east coasters

Nice easy win for Alcaraz today.

I thought Fritz had a chance to go pretty deep. He looked pretty rough. First loss in the first round since 2018

Rafa comes across as a likable, aw-shucks guy.

Appreciate what he shared about his rivals...being able to compete and push each other without hating the other guy. For a professional athlete, he just has this refreshing outlook on the sport and life.

He tries his best, gives it his all, and when all is said and done, he can walk away with peace. I was surprised he said he didn't feel like he had to sacrifice things in life to play sports. Maybe that's how much he loved it.

Of the Big 4 (or 3), he seemed to be the biggest grinder. My fav and goat.

TNT has really been showing some weird matches the last two days. Recorded yesterday and fast forwarded through it all since it was mostly doubles matches. Same thing today - Iga vs. Emma and they show doubles.

Haven't noticed that. Maybe you're watching Tru TV?

Yeah, yesterday they showed the Alcaraz match and then all of the Tommy Paul marathon match. Those seemed like the best available. I know TRU Tv will show a mix of whatever.

I think you're right. When I was leaving this morning, my wife yelled, "they're showing doubles again". I asked if she was on the right channel and saw her scrolling. Judging by the expletive I heard as I walked out, I assume she wasn't.

Waiting until after her doubles win in an hour.
I do have a ton of cards to post in her thread though.

Tsitsipas loss yesterday was a little surprising. I also thought Emma would put up a better fight against Iga. Maybe Iga will get back to her old form on her best surface.
Still have Joker to look forward to today.

Tsitsipas hasn't been nearly as good the past couple years.

Well that’s happened now too, I know I bet on them lol nah but it still impresses me how her and Paolini can put on a clinic in singles then go win a doubles match too, the doubles match was a breeze too.

Losing three total games in two doubles matches is actually insane.

At least three American women and probably four or five in the final 16. Not bad.

Mirra with an easy win today and Sinner rolling as well.

Probably looking at Zverev in the quarters

Up to 27 straight games won so far. In a major, that's absolutely insane.

Steak ends at 29. Now just need to win the match.

Paul into quarters Paolini out

Watching swiatek. Ryankina has a ton of power to make this lopsided
