Very cool, thanks for sharing your collection.

And may I ask, why Hayes? I find it interesting to see why people collect more obscure players.

Keep it up!

He's a local guy. You could say he's a local 'legend' of our MN town of 3000 people.

Played HS hockey here, and then left for college and an unfortunately brief NHL career.

He returned, is coaching the HS team and has a fitness/training facility for the kids.

Great example of a guy who is working hard to improve the community where he came from.

I started my collection by just buying what was available on COMC and Ebay.
It's been extremely tough finding any of his rare cards as most people just don't bother listing them.

That's so cool! Great player to choose for your collection.

I love to see collectors with a PC guy be able to locate a card they have wanted for a long time!
BTW - that Select refractor is beautiful!

Keep up the great work!

Just wanted to check if anyone has seen any of Hayes' cards out in the wild.

Have not seen any listings anywhere since December.

So I just came across this thread recently and it explains 100% why I've had so much trouble finding any unsigned Eriah Hayes cards for sale over the years.

I am also located in the same general local area as Hayes and he actually went to school with cousins of mine (though I'm not sure if he would remember them as I have not met him yet to ask).

A friend of mine frim Washington state who is a big NHL collector is also a big San Jose Sharks fan so I've been trying to get two unsigned cards of Eriah to get signed (one for my collection and one as a surprise for my friend) for years. I was able to snag one off eBay recently but they are usually bought before I can buy it and because of this thread, I now know why, ha.
