Franco is awesome, but he’s currently way too high on that list.

I was nervous when scrolling to see who #1 was, finally a list that got it right!

After years of arguing Soto > Acuna, I think the media and card market has now severely underestimate Acuna. They're 1a and 1b for me.

My first thought as well.

Dylan Carlson was too high and Acuna is too low.

1) Juan Soto
2) Ronald Acuna
3) Vladimir Guerrero Jr
4) Fernando Tatis Jr
5) Wander Franco

Side note: the graphic designers for The Ringer should takeover Topps/Bowman Inception moving forward.

It's really amazing quick talent drops off after the top 5...

He blows Harper and Soto out of the water if he played the second half last year.

On pace for 47 HRs, 34 SBs, 140 runs and 100 RBIs batting leadoff. Slugged .600 All the while playing phenomenal RF defense and hosing down sh7t turds at 3B without the use of the janitor throw

Franco at two is a stretch and they are too down on pitchers in general.

Three Marlins made the list. So that has to bode well for the Yankees in 3-4 years.

I think it’s a strong 7. Then a drop off. Robert and Bichette are studs, imo.

I was debating how to describe it... essentially I see it as

GOAT: Soto

Amazing players of this generation (unless cut down by injury / breaking down body): Acuna, Tatis, Wander, Vlad

Standing on the slope between top/middle (might climb up, but could tumble down): Robert, Bichette

Middle-plateau: 8-11

Sinkhole forming: Kelenic

Sinkhole: rest

Acuna should be #2 easily. I’d put Vlad at 3, Franco 4, Trevor Rogers at 5.

When Tatis matures and stays healthy, I’ll move him up. It’s also silly to use him playing the premium SS position as a plus when he’s a negative defender.

Haha… from what we know now, I agree with you. But I think a few of those 8-25 names have a chance to bust out. We’ll see. Witt and Julio should have been on that list in the 20-25 range.

Yep. Defense matters. And Tatis is the worst of that bunch, by far.

I’ll be interested to see how Rogers follows up the season he had last year. Thought for a second they overlooked Bieber but then I realized he’s 26 years old.

What happened re: defense... I thought that was supposed to be one of his sparkly advantages coming up

I wouldn’t go there for baseball, that’s for sure. Simmons hates baseball. Or at least he wants to change it so much that it doesn’t resemble baseball anymore.

No way Wander should be above Vladdy, Acuna, Tatis.

I used to love reading Simmons say 10+ years ago and Grantland had some really good writers. The Ringer on the other hand is straight dumpster fire. While Simmons has made himself incredibly wealthy, I also feel like he's now completely irrelevant. Maybe it just that I don't follow him anymore, but to me he seems to exist in a media echo chamber. He never really had any interesting takes, he just wrote at the time humorous sports/pop culture articles.
