PSA Has Graded 23 FAKE 2000 Finest Moments Autographs, BGS Another 13+

BUYER BEWARE of fake 2000 Finest Moments Autographs, typically graded by PSA or BGS of the following players: Bart Starr, John Elway, Dan Marino, Franco Harris, Kurt Warner, and Joe Montana.

At some point, copies without autographs and authentication stickers were graded by BGS and sold to an unknown party who added their own counterfeit autographs and Topps stickers from other cards.



PSA has graded at least 22 of these cards with FAKE autographs and BOGUS authentication stickers.

See below for examples and some lists of KNOWN FAKE copies. These lists are by no means exhaustive. Particularly I am certain there are numerous additional BGS counterfeits out there.

To be fair, the PSA submitters knew/know what they are doing and didn't have the auto grade, just the card, BGS graded both. the PSA should have been kicked back as altered or listed so on the tag.

Yes. They also added a bogus Topps sticker to the back.

I know he's not a huge name ... but I recently bought a PSA 10 Andre Reed from this very set for my PC -- and now I'm wondering if it's fake. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea how you can tell.

I also bought it from Probstein123.

Does the Topps sticker on the back start with 0821 or 0822? It should be okay if so. That looks like the sticker range for Andre Reed.

And a rule for all the players is that if the sticker number on the back doesn’t begin with a 0 it is definitely fake (at least with the players in the OP, I didn’t confirm on every common auto). That doesn’t necessarily mean that every one starting with a 0 is real but it’s a good sign that it likely is.

PSA got exposed. They authenticated fake cards as "GEM MT" which means they don't actually know how to authenticate. Which begs the question what business are graders truly in because it apparently isn't the authentication business.

The authentication card grading industry needs to get major regulation. Write your congressman.

Here's another Elway fake, currently for sale on eBay. As you can see it has the same bogus autograph in addition to a Topps sticker that has clearly been taken off of another card from a different set.
