My Wed/Thurs @ The National

Pretty sure this year's National put me into double digit Nationals that I've attended, I'm sure I'm missing 1-2 somewhere, getting old...

I won't beat certain topics to death, but here's my write up for the two days I attended....

Traffic - It was #@#@#@, no lie, Cleveland needs to get their act together. We did slide in the back way both days and got free parking both days.

"VIP" - Got us in about 20 minutes early on Wednesday and jumped the line on Thursday, so well worth it for us.

Bathrooms/Food/Drinks - They definitely need to figure out the bathroom situation by 2026, I counted 3 Mens Rooms and 1 Ladies Room... Food/Drink looked like a mess, but I brought snacks and Gatorades so no issue for me personally...

Dealer Pricing - I'll be honest, I didn't stop and look at a lot of the new shiny stuff, but I was seeing 1.5x-3x eBay regularly. I think some dealers just go to hang out with buddies at this point, they aren't selling anything at their prices.

Wifi - Speaking of eBay, wifi was spotty at best. Really need to do your research on pricing before you go or you could easily get bent over.

YouTube Influencers - It's kinda funny seeing these guys walk around with their camera people and "groupies". I saw Mojo Sports, Roth Cards, Goldin and Geoff Wilson (you ruined the hobby I love, Geoff Wilson, Geoff Wilson)

Theft - I saw one guy get caught on Thursday trying to steal a jersey from a table, but he wasn't slick enough. Dealer mf'ed him up the wall and then let him go, didn't call security, thought that was weird.

I have this weird feeling that if the Fanatic Fest goes well next month and Fanatics incentives the "breakers" and "youtube influencers" to go exclusive with them and their show, The National could be in trouble if they don't fix their flaws...

It has some paper loss on the back and a wrinkle on the front you can only see from certain angles.

I'm ok with the paper loss, I feel like it helps tell the story and gives it some age, it's 100+ years old

But yeah, I definitely try to buy the card and not the grade, thanks for the compliments

I'd be fine if the Fanatics Fest took all the influencers and breakers. Let the National go back to being just a giant card show without all the other crap

This is spot on. Imagine the floor space that could be opened up if the breakers weren’t there.
