I did the retail management thing for years and had a blast before the companies were sold off to Shareholders. When I left Walmart to go back to the railroad I simply put "This is my 2 week notice. Too many Nickelback songs on Walmart radio." I handed it to the store manager and he asked if I could rewrite it without the Nickelback part and I declined. Told him that if this leads to one less Nickelback song on the radio that I would be a hero to all of my piers across the globe.
I posted a pic of the 2 week notice onto the Walmart associates Facebook page and got 345 likes. Goodtimes.

I informed my principal in person, but had to write a letter for the superintendent and school board. At first they said they wouldn’t accept it because I had a contract and they didn’t want to lose me. I told them I was going either way and if I had to breach the contract I would.

I gave an oral resignation.
I was asked to give a written one as well. Told my boss, who had seen all of my unfiltered e-mails over the years, I would do it if he really wanted. He changed his mind
