I do have the unfortunate job of asking someone to leave the crisis house if they broke the rules. It breaks my heart every single time.

I do not have that power, but I wish I did. When I was a construction foreman, I did have that power. It never bothered me, I would always get the sob stories from guys, but I always told them the same thing, If you really needed this job as much as you say you do, you would have shown up and did the work.

Yes - but I do not enjoy it.

I had to let someone go during COVID, she understood, still, very difficult.

Had to let someone go for performance. He knew it was coming.

I'd prefer it always work out and everyone succeed, but that's not reality.
