Default Can one of you Ebay experts tell me if this was just shilled away from me tonight??

I rarely bid on Ebay, but I think this looks suspicious! Thanks in advance for any opinions given!

What does? And why?

The (75) feedback that won it placed three bids near the end. If they were shilling to get a higher sale price, would you not expect one single bid, perhaps $299? They bid $287, $302, and above $307.77 by at least the $5 min increment. It appears to me someone tried to win it. The $302 bid doesn't feel like a shill bid amount given where it ended.

If it was a shill to protect against the sale price being too low, I'd expect a single over bid. If you think they dropped three bids to make it look like a competitive bidder trying to win, what is it that leads you to that? Instead, why not a single $500 bid, and they still win it by the same final price, but with just one over bid.

Seller has a large number of listings, active and completed. Yet the (75) feedback bidder has only bid on one item with this seller. And one item total. So it doesn't look like an account the seller is using to bid up their own listings (I'd expect a lot more items bid on, and a high percentage of those items to be from this same seller).

Not yet showing up on terapeak. Keep an eye on whether it gets paid for or relisted.

5 bids total, all on one item. Doesn't seem too sus to me.

if it was 500 bids on 100 cards from the one seller, then that'd be different.

Doesn't seem very suspicious to me either. Not a terrible price for one of his only hard signed rookie autos (and jersey numbered).

only two thoughts come to mind.

first, explain why you think it looks suspicious. if you're asking for opinions.

second, how on earth did this card go so cheap?

Wait.

JB just won a title, was Finals MVP and doesn't sign anymore. One of his RPAs, jersey numbered on top, from a mid-end set sells for a little over 300.

Is his market (or the market in general) so bad that something like this might be shilled?

Thanks for the replies. As I stated, I do very little on Ebay, but when I saw the 30 day summary, it shows 5 bid and 100% bid activity with the seller. I must not understand what that means. I thought it meant this was the only seller the person bid with and it was these 5 bids(and no others with any other auctions). As far as why it went for the amount that is considered low...no idea. In the recent past(not since him winning finals MVP) I have picked up several jersey numbered cards of his for what I thought was silly low(a NT non-auto was $3.25!). Thanks everyone. I will watch to see if it gets relisted. I appreciate the responses.
