known print line on card still affect grade?

When a particular card has a known print issue (same line in same spot for every card) do graders still take off for that? If I get on ebay I can pull up 20 of this card with the exact same "defect" so ...... where does that leave us? No 10's ever or ignore the line and grade as usual?

I will vote for whoever President that can combine effect and affect . also farther and further need to merge as well. They are just too dang close for delineation.

Some cards should have their print defects ignored because they are so common. Depends on how experienced the grader is though. Some examples where I have seen multiple PSA 10's with common print defects are the 1992 Topps Gold Shaq with the "scratch" on the left hand side, 1983 Gwynn Donruss with a print defect on his nose, and the 1984 Mattingly with the print defect over his back.

PSA is hit or miss on this. the 1934 Goudey KiKi Cuyler has a blue "blotch" that appears on some cards, and sometimes PSA has qualified it, and sometimes they haven't. (Based on my googling of the card)

I had one with the mark graded and it got a MK qualifier...which should have been PD if they wanted to mark down for it.
