Honest question, what led you to call this fake?

What are the signs or what is off?

I'm looking at 2 on eBay now and outside of the angle, I guess I don't see the differences.

What do you mean by print quality on the back?
The back on the pic you have looks grainy but one of the eBay ones does too.

Irrespective of the actual card in question, some of those eBay authenticity guarantee stickers are very easy to peel off (and place back onto a team bag).

I recently purchased a few cards that went through authentication and only one of those stickers "worked" as it should have when I removed the sticker.

Imo the stickers are kinda pointless anyway. The whole point is to a facilitate transaction between seller and buyer on eBay to give buyer confidence….for that transaction (which in this case, depending on what’s true, could be questionable).

There doesn’t even really need to be an eBay AG sticker…they could send it on to the buyer in the blue fold out box thingey, receive the email, and the buyer knows it’s authenticated just the same. The whole point is just for that transaction. I don’t think the intention was ever to give the card a permanent “authenticity” status, as in selling these at card shows etc as if that means much of anything (as mentioned it’s unlikely to be tamper proof anyway). And when you resell on eBay, it’ll go through again and they have re-authenticate, whether in the stickered bag or not. The sticker is unnecessary to even have.

Sooo…. what even happens here. I assume buyer takes it up with eBay with the evidence, and hopefully is somehow made whole? Since after all the authenticity is “guaranteed”, whatever that means.

Is this another Jordan PMG red thing where eBay then does not go back to the seller on this and just refunds out of their pocket? A joke if that’s the case and this is a fake card.

I'm a believer that eBay implemented AG to reduce the amount of fraud from buyers -- buyers were scamming sellers out of cards and getting refunds through eBay, which I'm sure was costing eBay significant amounts of money. AG is a way for eBay to pass liability onto buyers by creating a clearing house for cards.

Supporting the idea that eBay has taken steps to reduce loses from fraud, they recently removed American Express as a payment option. Speculation is that Amex makes it easy for card holders to reverse charges -- otherwise known as chargebacks. Chargebacks are a popular tactic used by scammers on eBay.

With regards to the AG sticker, I believe it's a way to insure cards are not tampered with in the event of a refund request for damage or improper authentication. But of course, it's not a perfect or tamper proof system.

My most recent one...as usual, it doesn't leave anything behind when peeled off.

Are these photos from an ebay listing, or your photos?

If your photos, did you receive the card like that as shown with no QR code sticker?

If your photos, did you receive the card from the ebay authentication program or directly from the seller?

Exact same outcome with a few of mine.

Shady beings will probably put fake cards (slabbed or not) in these team bags and flip them on whatever marketplace they can.

I’m a content creator. A viewer sent this card for me to review if it’s fake.

He purchased this card with eBay sticker from an online seller, not directly from eBay.

I knew this would happen.

Shady people trying to take advantage of inexperienced hobbyists, trying to pawn off fakes as authentic with the use of resealable eBay AG stickers.

Note to self: don’t buy cards with eBay AG stickers from outside eBay. At the very least be suspicious of it.

Maybe the different one I'm looking at on eBay is also fake, but the font looks good to me.

so the eBay seal and Panini seal are both tampered with?

this stinks, could you please post a pic of a real one to help decipher the points that make this one fake.
because I am not doubting it I just don't see how you can tell it's fake.

in other words as a single card buyer this makes me sick because I would 100% have fallen for this.

thanks
