Not sure if this is anywhere on this Forum but I HAD to see people's reactions to this.
I just came across this while listing on eBay. And was amazed just looking at one listing that people purchase off of users like this. I went to the feedback and of course clicking on the negative you see all what you imagine you would see. But 12k transactions and an obvious scam. The store charges $50-$60-$70 for common base cards and professionally alters images to make them appear more "rainbow" or "foil". On most listings they have 50% off or something of the sort obviously to sell the scam. If you go to the store page he even has videos professionally shot and his responses to people's negative feedback is cringeworthy. I guess this is America. Stuff like this baffles me beyond belief. I feel like to sell on eBay you should have to have 99.5% positive feedback or higher. I know I'm probably just oblivious and there's tons of these people on eBay. But wow. Why why whyyyy do people fall for this stuff. https://www.ebay.com/str/esagrading?...mis&media=COPY Last edited by Vaessen; 02-28-2025 at 12:41 AM. |

Wow, their listing pics are horrible! And I can understand the negative feedback, they are clearly misrepresenting what they're selling.

I do not know why this is bugging me so much, but I want this guy to be banned. I know people need to do a little of their own research and understand, but this is shady AF. I cannot believe the amount that he has made on this. Just terrible.

It bugged me as well haha. I was going to send a message to him but I figure what's the point. The worst part is a majority of buyers off of someone like this are probably father's or mother's buying "cool" looking cards for their kids. That is what infuriates me. Tally up what he's made and consider it theft. and take him to jail! if only...

I saw elsewhere of a seller who takes serial numbered patch card with plain/one color patches and replaces those patches with really nice ones and sells them via eBay, with similar results. That seller apparently discloses the alteration, so he gets away with it.
eBay banning this type of shenanigans would be one step, but the company’s making the cards have a more direct route, I think, because this could be a type of copyright infringement. Cards like this are represented to be Topps (or whatever), but really aren’t. That said, I don’t remember a card company ever taking this step in the past… |

I love the glossary in their item descriptions trying to justify their keyword spamming / misleading titles.

Bumping this back to the top as I just came across some of their listings within the last week.
This is embarrassing and predatory.

Super shady and on the seller, but I also view eBay itself as culpable in enabling this charade to continue. They are way too inactive with obvious scams on their platform. I have to imagine this has tons (hundreds I assume, based on feedback) item not as described claims, saying similar things (received empty magnetic etc)…..any reasonable company would have shut that down long ago.
Funny story….I received an offer on one of my items the other day, from a username I recognize all too well…..who scammed me back in like 2003 during the Wild West days of eBay. (I still remember the item I was scammed on, bought a lot of 97 finest baseball cards and he never sent it), this was a time it wasn’t as straightforward to get your money back. So apparently that dude is still around 20 years later….who knows what else he’s done during that time, eBay sure wouldnt care. (oh and the offer was low of course…like $100 on a 350 obo listing. Immediate block).

Instacardboard got me on a purchase as well. They had the card sent to a fake address and even the phone number attached to it was fake yet eBay still gave them their money back when they said it didn’t arrive. It was only a 10 dollar card and that’s why I sent it eBay envelope. I fought it to the end cause I had already saw your chat on here and realized how bad this person really is. It just sickens me that this all could have been avoided had eBay just kicked them off a long time ago.
