Deep-fried Turkey

Bought a deep fryer off a guy on Craigslist. All set up in the driveway. You just put the frozen turkey in the oil once it's boiling, right? There weren't instructions with the fryer.

It all depends on how badly your house burns. If your house is close to others and the fire spreads, you'd have a better chance of being on the news.

**Guys dont forget to thaw out your frozen turkey and dry it before deep fry and dont over-fill the pot with oil!!!!
also, consider doing more than 1 turkey, as oil can be expensive.

^^^ The one year I did it, I did a practice run....

Put the frozen turkey in the bucket with just water and then measured the amount of water...
(Please keep in mind, the fryer was NOT on)
Gave me an idea of how much oil I'd need to cover the bird, but also not to overdo it...

Of course it rained that Thanksgiving and threw the boiling and cooking times out of whack, but the finished product was tasty...
